013/365 Treasure Cupboard!

TREASURE CUPBOARD

This is my cupboard where I keep all my treasures.
The love hearts are favours from my sister’s wedding.
The Esther and William dolls are presents from my oldest friend.

Inside the cupboard is my collection of Willow figurines. I absolutely love these ornaments. The first I got from my Aunty on my 30th birthday and since then I am regularly given them by David, my Mum, my friends and family and my pupils. I even bought myself one, the twins one, I bought it when we first started IVF and kept it in a drawer until 5 attempts later we were finally successful and I became a Mummy to twins!

Inside the cupboard is a framed photo of my sister and I. I love my sister so much and miss her everyday. She lives in Australia and so we do not see each other very often at all. I dream that one day we will live in the same village by the sea and our children will become life long friends.

Inside the cupboard are china personalised Christmas baubles from Esther and William’s first Christmas. I keep them here, I keep them safe, ready for the tree next Yuletide.

Inside the cupboard are various plates, ornaments and oddities that I have collected from my pupils over the years. As a teacher I was given a lot of wine, chocolate and flowers but I was also lucky enough to be given some truly thoughtful and personal gifts and those I will treasure for always. They are, of course, in my Treasure Cupboard!

Say Cheese!

Today whilst cutting cheese for cheese on toast Esther was watching me avidly and so I thought that I would give her a little taste. She really liked it but made such a mess. It was very funny.

Esther is such a lovely little thing. Her smile lights up a room and melts your heart. She smiles with her whole face, her whole body it seems like sometimes. She is so tiny and seems so fragile yet she is strong. Her favourite thing to do is stand though she cannot do this on her own it does not seem to bother her. She will hold your hands and stand on your knees on her tippy toes, looking like she could walk forth and conquer the world. She has a very musical giggle and is starting to babble now too. Her tiny little mouth works hard to form the different sounds that make up her chatter. Her new thing to do is chatter to herself in the mirror which is very funny to watch. One of the best parts of my day is bathing Esther, her smiling face beaming up at me framed with soapy suds, making her look like a friendly lion. She is a treasure. My little star, and I love her with everything I am and ever will be x

Can’t believe I am a Mummy to a son and a daughter, both of whom I love with all my heart, even on the grottiest of days! Even at my most tired I would not swap them and the love they have brought into my life for all the whole wide world!
