Theatre Review: Frozen The Musical

Last night I took Bea to London
To see Frozen The Musical
Thanks to London Theatre Direct
This was a special treat for Bea
Who has been working super hard
For auditions and trials and her
Stage school show

She was VERY excited
For her very first trip to
The West End
This was made all the more special
When before the show started
The announcer welcomed
Everyone who was having
Their first West End
Theatre experience and hoped
It would ignite a passion in them
For seeing many more
Musicals and plays

The whole experience
From foyer to final bows
Wowed Bea
She is now more determined
Than ever to perform
In a musical and
She has a long list of shows
That she would love to go
Back to London to see

But her first show
Her first love is
Frozen
A magical musical night
That she and I will
Never ever forget

Arriving at the Theatre Royal
Was such a special experience
The theatre is stunning
So luxurious
Every member of staff that we met
Was so friendly and helpful

From the moment we took our seats
The magic began
Northern Lights were projected
On the picture screen
Bea was mesmerised
The play opens with
Young Anna and Young Elsa
Two wonderful little girls
Who had magnificent stage presence
Young Anna was super cute and energetic
Young Elsa was more elegant
And controlled but beautifully played
Both girls are great actresses and
Beautiful singers
They opened the show with confidence
And for Young Anna with
Fantastic comic timing
We really enjoyed their performance
And Bea is desperate to play
One of the sisters one day

The story moves on
As the children grow up
And Elsa’s powers
Become stronger
We loved the big ensemble numbers
Used for storytelling and
Scene transitions
We especially loved The Northuldra
The people of the forest

The staging of Frozen was amazing
Filled with lights and projections
But also big solid sets
Moving bridges and breathtaking
Prop trickery

The storm at the end of Act 1
As Elsa is transformed
Was like watching real life magic
Bea kept exclaiming
How do they do that?
The special effects were amazing
They had their own applause
That was most notable
As the storm raged on
In the anthem
We all know and love
Let It Go

Elsa was so striking
She commanded the stage
And wielded her powers
With confidence and grace
She was strong and elegant
With a powerhouse voice
An amazing performance by
Samantha Barks

I absolutely loved
The opening of Act 2
Hygge with Oaken
And his sauna family
What a way to hook
The audience back in
After the interval
A hilarious ensemble scene
Excellently executed
Very hygge!

Bea was enthralled
With the whole show
The gorgeous costumes
The comedy
The emotion
The amazing solos
The big dance numbers
All the ice and snow!

There is something for everyone
In this production
It was so much better
Than I thought it was going to be
And Bea’s face was beaming
I wish I had filmed her
Expressions of awe and wonder
And joy

Olaf is brilliant
So so funny
With a familiar warm hug
Kind of a feel
For those of us
Who know and love the films
Summer was a highlight
Of the night for me

Summer and Young Anna
Reappearing as one of
The Northuldra
Once again she enchanted
Everyone with cuteness
And great comic timing
We loved her!

Frozen the Musical
Takes a tale so well known
And gives it even more
Musical magic and
Even more sparkle!

We adored every moment
And I cannot wait to go again
With the rest of my family

This is not a show
Just for children
It is for everyone

A tale of sibling love
A story of
Being true to yourself
Of not being afraid of who you are

Frozen The Musical
Reminds us all
That we are at our most special
When we are true to ourselves
When we do not worry
What others think
When we

Let It Go!

Do not let this show go
Without you seeing it
You can book your tickets
With London Theatre Direct
They have a summer ticket event
Coming up with amazing prices
On West End shows

I highly and heartily recommend
A trip to Arendelle
