A Tricky Kind Of Magic
I cannot let Childrens Mental Health Week pass without mentioning loss and grief
When we lose someone that we love the pain is immense and the grief we experience lasts a long time and affects us all in different ways
Grief makes us sad, angry, confused and hurt
We can be left feeling guilty, feeling lost and lonely, feeling anxious and depressed
Through our grief we can show resilience, courage and we long for light and hope then feel bad for feeling any positives after our loss
There is trauma and stress after death and we need to learn how to recognise it, how to deal with it
And how to help our young people do the same
We need to know how to help others who are grieving
Loss and grief manifests in many in a multitude of ways affecting not only our mental health but our physical well-being too
This stack of 12 middle grade books shine a light on mental health issues linked to loss and grief
These are brilliant and beautiful books
These are important reads for our young people
Loss and grief are important topics for me after losing my daughter
It has been 10 years and we are still all navigating our own grief journeys and books like these really help us as a bereaved family
I am so grateful to the authors for these stories
Over the years I have shared many books around bereavement loss and grief
You can find them by searching on Instagram for #edspirereadsgriefandloss #edspirereadslossandgrief
But today I want to shine a light on these middle grade reads that are all perfect for reading this
