There is something magical about London at Christmas
The icing on our Christmas cake this advent
Has been a trip to a very festive Royal Albert Hall
The building is stunning inside and out
Arriving at the hall feels incredibly special
And when the hall is decked with holiday lights
It feels all the more amazing
On Sunday we headed to the Royal Albert Hall
For My Christmas Orchestral Adventure
This is a festive family concert
That gets children into the hall
To get to know the orchestra
And to hear seasonal classical music
Having been to this Christmas concert
A few years ago when the twins were tiny
We knew to take our jingle bells with us
To join in the musical fun
The hall was filled with Santa’s Little Helpers
Ready to help Tim and Tom and Albert’s Band
Save Christmas on a very special musical mission
To return a missing map to Father Christmas
Children and their grown ups are invited to
To find Father Christmas
Along the way we ice skate on frozen lakes
Go on a Sleigh Ride and enjoy a White Christmas
All without leaving the Royal Albert Hall’s magical auditorium
We loved Sleigh Ride
Loved The Waltz of the Flowers
I especially enjoyed ET
And am now set on showing Esther and William
This film from my childhood
We would have loved the orchestra to play
Christmas at Hogwarts and The Polar Express
And some music from The Snowman
And we would have loved more of an opportunity
To sing along with some Christmas carols
We did very much enjoy the dancing though
And how amazing for the young girl
Chosen from the audience to conduct the orchestra
Bea was wishing with all her heart
That had been her
The concert is in two halves
And after the interval
Children and their grown ups
Are taken on a bear hunt
The traditional song
Given a festive feel
The children are all delighted
When a bear is discovered
Along with Father Christmas
The true meaning of the season
And a chance to ring out out those jingle bells
We thoroughly enjoyed our
Christmas Orchestral Adventure
And would have loved to experience
More festive music in the breathtakingly beautiful
Royal Albert Hall
What a wonderful way for children
To be introduced to the awe and wonder
Of a full symphony orchestra
A perfect way to get the whole family feeling festive
And to spread some Christmas cheer
