Spellstoppers

As I type this I am buzzing with energy
With magic
Book magic
I have just devoured Spellstoppers
An awe inspiring first middle grade novel
Written by Cat Gray
With artwork by David Dean
I am tingling as I type
And try to form the sentences to say
Just how much I loved this book

Devoured by me for pleasure
And now going to be thrust into the hands
Of my own three MG readers
And every young reader I know

This is a brilliant story fantasy adventure story
Filled with magical creatures and enchanted objects
There are ghosts, sorcerers, shadows and selkies
Villainous owls, man eating goldfish
And a malfunctioning magical castle

There is a curse that is really a gift
Brave hearted children
An awesome grandad
Courage, resilience, loyalty and love

With themes of family and friendship
And good versus evil
This story has EVERYTHING

I have thoroughly enjoyed losing myself
In Max, Kit and Bram’s world
And I feel very sad to leave
AND that it is my mission to tell everyone
To read this brilliant and beautiful book

It made me laugh, it made me cry
And it made be believe
That there truly is magic in this world
If we only know where and how to look

Have you read Spellstoppers?
It is a quick and easy middle grade read
Perfect for the last few days
Of the summer holidays
Would be a brilliant story to read aloud

I may not be a Spellstopper
But I think my job could be
A Spellstopper Starter
Getting people, especially children
To read this brilliant and beautiful book
