When you’re planning a party for your child it can be overwhelming to think of different ideas for them each year. If you’re drawing a blank as to what to plan for your child this year, here are 5 ideas you could try as recommended by this summer camp in Watford.
1. Make a treasure hunt in your garden
Treasure hunts are a great way to get children exploring even in spaces that they already know. It gives your child the chance to have fun with their friends, while also making sure they have a chance to find goodies and secrets. It’s a good way of testing your child’s problem solving skills and also gives their friends the chance to get some treats and prizes as well. Just make sure you have a big cake ready for afterwards!
2. Bake the birthday cake together
If you know your child is a bit picky then why not make the cake together? It could be an ice cream cake, or a classic Victoria Sponge. Let your child be in charge of what the cake will look like, even if you feel like it may look messy. It’s a good way of letting your child have fun while learning to make decisions. Should the cake fail in the oven it’s good to have a spare just in case.
3. Set up a Sweet Olympics
Sports activities, where kids have to team up in order to get the most sweets, will always motivate a party. Set up a range of games that they’ll see in a normal sports day, like egg and spoon races, wheelbarrow races and many more. Each winner gets a bunch of sweets or treats of their choosing, and everyone at the party regardless of age is bound to have fun.
4. Paintball Party
So long as everyone is on board, a paintball party means your child gets to try out something high octane and filled with adrenaline. Your child will have heaps of fun and it’s bound to create lots of fond memories for them. You could also keep it a surprise for your child as well to add to the excitement.
5. Water guns and a BBQ
If you want to keep the party at home, and it’s a very hot day, a water gun fight always goes down a treat. A BBQ means the parents can get involved as well and they can make some fun memories with their children as well.
