We were sent a bundle of books for the purpose of this review
My children aged 4, 7, 11 and 11
LOVE a book series
They like to have stories and characters that they can return to time and time again
Characters and stories that grow and change with them
Each of my children were made readers (and listeners) with a particular series of books
All of them began their book series life with Enid Blyton
As very young listeners we read them The Enchanted Wood, The Wishing Chair, Galliano’s Circus and Cherry Tree Farm
Edie, age 4, loves Isadora Moon and The Tindims
Bea, age 7, taught herself to read with Kitty books
She is crazy about cats and she wanted to know more about Kitty’s cat powers and her adventures
Bea is currently reading the The Rescue Princesses series by Paula Harrison, the author of Kitty
Esther devoured Malory Towers when we heard there was going to be a TV series
She loved reading school stories and moved from Malory Towers to St Clare’s
The children all love The Famous Five too
Esther is currently wrapped up in The School For Good and Evil
While William is racing through Skullduggery Pleasant after it was recommended to him by a friend
William LOVES a series
He is a huge fan of Adventures on Trains
He loved the Michael Scott series The Secrets of the Immortal Nicholas Flamel
He really enjoyed Wizards of Once
And the big three are all at varying points through the Harry Potter collection
Reading a series of stories
Helps children to become regular readers
They become attached to characters in the books that they read
And they want to know more about them
My son loves it when books are left on a cliffhanger
And you have to wait for the next book to see what happens next
He enjoys that suspense and then the thrill of holding the next instalment in his hand
He gets so excited and it makes my heart sing
My eldest daughter loves the comfort of familiar places and characters
She returns to favouritee stories and series over and over again
Whenever I am looking for a gift for my children
I will look for a book box set for them
Knowing that the right series will entertain them and educate them
Will offer them a window into another world
A mirror to see themselves represented in story
Will inspire them, excite them, challenge them
When buying box sets and bundles of books
I always turn to Books 2 Door for a great variety of quality books

All of the book box sets that we own have come from Books 2 Door
