Hello
I have not written much here for a while
I have not really known what to say
I have not really felt much like writing
However recently I have been having lots of messages and questions
About home education and how we are all getting along generally
So I thought I might start writing a bit again
And see how it goes
So hello again if you are a regular reader
And hello, nice to meet you, if you are new
My name is Jennie and I am rapidly approaching the age of 45!
I was 34 when I first started this blog back in 2011
I am a home educating mummy of five children
10 year old twins who are the best of friends
And have no idea how lucky they are to live with their very best friend
A fierce and feisty six year old with a huge heart
And her sights set on being an actress
A super cute three year old who is always racing around
Doing a splendid job of keeping up with the big kids
And eating ALL the pudding
Pudding is without doubt Edie’s favourite thing
And Matilda Mae
Our baby in the sky
Baby Tilda died on the day she turned 9 months old
She should be celebrating her 9th birthday this May
We still miss her every day
We live in a small village in Kent
And have spent much of the last year exploring our local area
We have walked thousands of kilometres
On the footpaths around our village
And have found that there is not much we need
That is not right on our doorstep
We have been home educating for five years this April
And I have never been more grateful for our situation
Than when the pandemic hit last year
Though we miss our family and friends very much
On the whole the children’s life has not been too badly affected
Though we are missing our clubs and groups and classes
We have definitely learned to love a slower pace of life
And appreciate where we live
Our home education is going well
I think that we have found a rhythm that works for us
Allowing me to support the very different needs of all four children
While leaving lots of room in our days for books and walks and play
I am incredibly proud of my four living children
The way they have coped with lockdown life
And how they have grown individually and as a sibling group
I am a blessed mummy
Here are some snippets of our days x
