This year as we face Christmas in at least partial lockdown
I am trying to plan ahead for Christmas at home
I have gone a bit crazy with books
We will be reading at least one Christmas book a day
Starting on the 2nd November
All Souls Day
A special Matilda Mae day
Our extended book advent will last all the way through to epiphany
And I am incredibly excited about it
We are going to read, sing, craft and walk our way through winter
I will also be getting the children individual advent calendars
They are only little for such a short time
And I want to cherish every moment of the magic this year
We have only left our village a handful of times this year
None of us have been anywhere at all indoors
Not even to a shop
We have hidden and hibernated and stayed safe at home together
It means a lot to us to make this festive season special
It is our best Tilda time
As we have strong memories of her as a 7 month old baby
Starting to show her wonderful big smiley character
All the stars are coming out
For Christmas and for Tilda
Here are some beautiful advent calendars that have caught my eye
I hope that you like them too
There is a mixed selections
For children and for adults too
Personalised Christmas Playlist Advent Calendar
I absolutely love this idea
Every day you open a window
Scan in a code and add a new Christmas track to a Spotify playlist
A modern twist on the old fashioned mix tapes we all used to make
Back in the day!
Gourmet Marshmallow Advent Calendar
I treated myself to a Gourmet Marshmallow advent calendar a couple of years ago
And it was delicious
The perfect treat with a cup of coffee each December morning
Yes Bebe Wooden Forest Advent Calendar
This is such a beautiful advent calendar
I love that the figures can be played with
They can also be reused
Edie would absolutely love building up this scene
And adding her own figures to the advent ones
To act out festive snowy forest adventures
This is a beautiful advent calendar for children
I predict it will sell out fast
It is also available to preorder with The Wooden Play Den
Personalised Christmas Advent Calendar Decanter Gift
I would love to be able to afford to buy and fill this for David
He certainly deserves a small whiskey every December evening
It is his 40th Christmas this year
What a wonderful way to celebrate this would be
And again it can be used every Christmas
The advent gift that keeps on giving
It would look stunning on display too
Personalised House Advent Calendar
Esther and I keep looking at this reusable house advent calendar
You build and accessorise the house as you countdown to Christmas
The house can be personalised and it is just so pretty
Esther loves making things
She loves playing with small worlds and little figures
This is perfect for her
And a house seems an apt calendar for the advent of 2020
The year we stayed at home
Bea, age 6
Is very into Lego
And I think that she has her eye on the Lego Friends advent calendar this year
It does look fun and the pieces will be used long after Christmas
Charbonnel et Walker Peter Rabbit Chocolate Advent Calendar
This Peter Rabbit chocolate advent calendar looks gorgeous
It would go perfectly well with the Peter Rabbit Advent Book that we have this year
Peter Rabbit: Christmas is Coming: A Christmas Countdown Book
I think for William it will be the Star Wars Lego advent calendar
There is not much choice for older boys
He probably likes sweets and chocolates the least out of all my children
But he does like Star Wars and Lego so I think this will be it
I absolutely love this calendar filled with angels and stars
It is the perfect Matilda Mae advent calendar from Yes Bebe
This simple but stunning calendar is the perfect start to your Advent. The angels bring the starlight closer to the earth every day.
On Christmas Eve the light reaches the earth and the crib lights up in the stable.
Perfect
There are so many advent calendars available this year
These are just a few of our favourites x
