This year
As a shared birthday present
Bea and Edie are getting their bedroom decorated
I had originally thought they would have a rainbow room
As they are our rainbow babies
Then I explored a woodland theme
Possibly with fairies
But now I am wondering about a light neutral room
With Liberty print accessories
So that it is a room they can enjoy the age they are now
And adapt and change and accessorise differently as they grow
Not so long ago we made Esther a ballerina unicorn room
And she is already wishing it was a shrine to Harry Potter
And so over the coming months I am going to be researching beds
And affordable carpets
The girls’ room used to be Esther and William’s room
And it has a very bright red, white and blue carpet
That suited the style of their twin bedroom
But it is not right the younger girls
And it cannot just be covered with a couple of rugs
We need to begin the renovations
With nice white walls
And a hard wearing stain protected carpet
Like this one … Petal Blush
Then once we have a blank canvas we can start to plan the rest
And I want the girls to be involved with choosing how their room will be
It is going to be a space for them to share
A place for them to play
It needs a cosy book nook
And a clever way of storing A LOT of cuddly toys
It is going to have an art station
A way for them to listen to stories and music
And lots of shelves for books and games
It is a big bedroom
Plenty big enough for two little people to sleep and play
In my head
It is going to look something like this
Betsy Bedding Set from Poppy and Honesty
Moon Hanging from Little Cloud
Liberty Stars from Little Cloud
Book Racks (to make walls of books)
I think this would be such a beautiful room for my two littlest girls
I bet they will choose completely different things
But a mummy can dream!!
A mummy can dream x
