It is 2019
I do not have a hover board
But I think RollPlay have come up with something close
For children aged 6+
Like a toboggan ride on the ground
A feeling of travelling fast above the ground
Leaning left and right to steer
Reaching speeds of 6 miles an hour
Fast enough for fun
To be thrilling without being frightening
My children have had a blast
Testing out this powerful and extremely maneuverable board
Back in April we were sent this Nighthawk from ROLLPLAY to review
The children have absolutely loved testing it out
It arrived assembled
The battery had to be charged for 12 hours
Then we were ready to roll!
After years of scooters and balance bikes this definitely felt like a big kids toy
The Nighthawk is recommended for children aged 6+
But we had to give Bea a go and she LOVED it
Bea was a brilliant little driver
After learning to move smoothly and to not break all the time
She was able to drive in loops, figure of eights and follow chalk routes on the patio
She has had a couple of crashes but was not hurt
No one has ever fallen off the board
The Nighthawk is an electric ride on and it can reach speeds of 6 miles an hour
Once the battery is fully charged
You get over an hour of ride time
Which was plenty for everyone to have a go
It is speedy and we were provided with safety gear for our tests
A helmet is definitely recommended
You steer the Hawk by leaning
Lean left to go left and right to go right
You hold on to handle bars on the side
These help you balance and offer some protection for little fingers
You can control the speed, start and stop using foot controls
It all takes some getting used to
But Esther, William and Bea were soon racing round
And having THE BEST time
This is our first experience of a powered ride on
All the children have loved being test drivers
The Nighthawk gets a big thumbs up from us
For racing round the patio and trying to manoeuvre around obstacles
It would also be easy to put The Nighthawk in the car
To take to a large empty space for more play possibilities
The Nighthawk is not cheap at over £100
(though it is currently on offer at Smyths!)
It would make a great shared present for multiple children
Or a special gift for a child who loves speed and excitement
We were sent a Rollplay Nighthawk for the purpose of this review
