Creating a Home School Room #ad

In just a few weeks

Esther and William will turn 9

And 10 days after that

Bea will be 5

5!!!

We are starting to make some changes in our home

William is moving out of the big bedroom

So that Edie and Bea can share a room

Our playroom is becoming more minimal

As a huge heap of the toys will go upstairs

Into the little girls’ bedroom / playroom

We need more bookshelves in every room

And we need a designated space for our home education activities

We have always until now

Used the dining table as our work space

But it means we have to clear the table for meals

Which is not great if the children are mid project

We have a room we call ‘the classroom’

But it does not really have anything in it

Apart from floor to ceiling books

And a never used interactive whiteboard

classroom

David and I have for a while wanted to use this space

As a work space for the children

Where they can each have a desk for writing

A space for their laptops

And all the non fiction books they might need within reach

A place where we can store and organise our educational supplies and stationery

As at the moment I have no idea

Where all our pens, pencils and rulers go!

I have been reading lots of articles online

About how to organise a home school room

And how to organise and decorate your desk

I have been scouring Pinterest for inspiration

And innovation

What did we do before the Internet?

I have found lots of ideas that I like

Spaces that seem to work well for multiple children

And I am excited to start work on creating a space of our own

Do you home educate?

How have you organised your learning space?

What are your home ed essentials?

We would love to know

Watch this space for updates on our home school room too
