If you are looking to have a place to take the whole family, Los Angeles is a great city to consider. Home to some of the world’s favourite movies, there’s something for all age levels. Whether it’s checking out world class museums or staying in one of the fancy mansions in Los Angeles, a trip to LA is a family memory to last a life time.
One of the great things about choosing Los Angeles as your vacation city is that many of the activities and sites can easily span across a wide age group. From young children to adults, these activity ideas can wow and wonder the viewer.
If you are planner, this type of trip is something kids often love getting on board with. Most kids day dream and would be ecstatic knowing they are going on a trip to Disneyland to see many of their favourite characters. If planning isn’t your thing, what better surprise than to wake up one morning to tell the family they will be on their way to Disneyland or some of these other great attractions. So get your sunglasses out and keep them handy as you prepare to take in some of these awesome California activities.
Go to Disneyland
Ok, so a trip to Disneyland goes a bit without saying that almost every child would jump at this opportunity. Regardless of the age, there is still something for everyone at Disneyland. Adults and older children may love the thrilling Space Mountain or the Indiana Jones Adventure to name a few. Simply walking around and looking to have your photo taken with Mickey Mouse is an activity itself. The bottom line is a trip to Disneyland can either be a child’s dream or a walk down memory lane for many adults.
Visit Universal Studios
Dubbed the entertainment capital of LA, no trip to the city is complete without a visit to Universal Studios. The studio is home to some of the most popular attractions and amusement rides based on famous TV shows and movies such as “The Simpsons,” “King Kong” and “The Mummy.” Make sure you give yourself ample time to fully take in all the studio has on offer.
Stay in a Giant Mansion

With luxury villas spread out all over the city, you will have your choice of properties to choose from. Particularly if you might be looking to go somewhere and have a “staycation” what better way to set yourself up for a super memorable time. You could decide to be alongside the beach or tucked up into the hills. Most of the villas come with state of the art kitchens so you can stock up and barely need to leave the comforts of your luxury retreat.
Stroll along Venice Beach
Balance out some of the other activities that cost money with a day at the beach. Venice Beach has long been attracting people of all types. From body builders, radical pamphleteers to regular people walking their dogs, this is the place to go and people watch. Add in packing in your own picnic, a beach blanket, a Frisbee and some games and you will have an inexpensive day sure to get both exercise and some family memories.
Drive Sunset Boulevard
Perhaps on the most iconic streets in America, Sunset Boulevard has been leading plenty of people down its palm lined road for decades. Spanning about 22 miles in total length, this is the place to see what is happening around Los Angeles. Known for its night life the strip has often been referred to Guitar Row given the large number of guitar stores and music related businesses.
