In our house
We go through SO many pens, pencils and crayons
Broken pencils, snapped crayons and dried up pens
Seem to breed in our home
Esther and Bea are the artists in our house
At 7 and almost 3
They do show some talent at drawing
And colouring
Bea has been able to hold a pencil correctly
From a very early age
And they spend a lot of time together
Drawing, colouring and crafting
Their artistic ability comes from Daddy
Not from me
I still now draw like a 7 year old
When we are asked by Mumsnet to test
A new range of pens, pencils and crayons
For BIC Kids
We jumped at the chance
It is always good to have a spare set
Of drawing and colouring tools
In case of emergencies
We are three weeks in to our product testing now
And so far we have no broken pencils, no snapped crayons
And most amazingly no dried up pens
The children have been very careful about putting the lids back on
Their special new pens!
We have been testing out
BIC® KIDS Kid Couleur 12 pack, RRP £2.99
The BIC KIDS Kid Couleur felt pens are durable and ultra washable felt pens with blocked tips
These felt pens are perfect for kids to explore their creativity without the mess
We decided to test the washability by using the pens to paint our nails
Bea wanted her nails to be all the colours of the rainbow
They ended up all the colours of the pen set
As did her hands, her arms and legs
And do you know what?
The pen washed off just fine
I was so impressed that I have let Esther take the pens
In to her brand new pink and grey bedroom
What harm can they do?
None that cannot be washed off!
Hurrah!
We also used the pens for drawings
Lots of rainbows
And other imaginative creations
In this picture Esther was learning about perspective
This is a family portrait including Matilda Mae
Esther decided to pretend that her arm was in a cast
Using toilet roll for plaster
She then got us all to sign it using the pens
I love my children’s imaginations
I love seeing them play out in full vibrant colour
We also tested

I think she finds them the easiest tool
For creating the colours and effects that she likes
Here are some of her creations
I love this unicorn
Jumping over a star
And one of her many many rainbows
Esther used the pencils to create colour backgrounds
For making stop motion animations with Zu3D

And of all Esther’s drawings
This is the one that I like the best
Cups and Cups and Cups and Cups
I think it is a clever idea for a picture
And I love the name
