After a week of toddler sleep challenges
Coughs, colds and croup
A disappointing antenatal appointment
I have decided to distract myself with some shopping
I am starting to piece together a newborn wardrobe
For our very last baby girl
Our Sprinkle of Stardust
This last tough week has made me more accepting of the fact
That this really will be our last baby
And more determined to enjoy the end of this pregnancy
And our last ever newborn baby daze
Here are some of the items of clothing I have bought
Or been sent for our little baby girl
And some things that I still have my eye on
Though really
How much clothing does a newborn baby need?
For new babies I love sleepsuits
And the best ones I have ever found are from The Essential One
My hospital bag includes white short sleeve bodysuits
And white sleepsuits from The Essential One
Once baby is home I have gone with a vintage floral theme
I bought these floral frill sleepsuits in newborn size
And the lovely Bex from The Mummy Adventure
Has also sent me the next size up
And I am so happy because they are so very very pretty
Who can resist a ruffle bum romper?
The lovely team at The Essential One
Have also sent this vintage floral set for Sprinkle
Which I cannot wait for her to wear
As Sprinkle is a Spring baby
I have chosen some bunny clothing
Alongside the florals
I bought this flowerbed gift set as a special treat
From Boden
I have never owned any Baby Boden before
I also bought the matching towel to wrap baby in when she is first born
For those all important first photos
Coordinating muslins
And some complementary bunny vests and a pointelle pack
From Next I have bought some stunning ochre dungarees
A set of floral rompers
A lilac dress with bunny tights
Dragonfly vests
And a lovely romper and hat set
I am obviously hoping for a hot summer!
This little girl in just a couple of weeks
Has gone from having nothing of her very own
To having this very special set of clothes for her earliest days
And as if all this were not enough
She has also been sent a very Lovely
Matilda Mae inspired outfit
From the team at aden+anais
All the stars!
Lovely
I have also started sorting through Bea’s old clothes
So many lovely things I had forgotten about
It may be that the sizes and seasons do not quite match
So I am glad that Sprinkle now has a little capsule starter wardrobe of her own
And I still have my eye on some other baby bits
For 0 – 6 months
When finances allow

As a friend reminded me today
Shopping, even window shopping
Is good for the soul!
Those ruffles on the bottom of the babygros are beyond cute. 🙂
It’s 14 years since I had a baby girl and fashion has changed since then and there are such gorgeous options to browse through now that perhaps weren’t available then. I love the vintage floral theme and I’m sure you’re going to adore dressing her in such beautiful clothing and I look forward to photos of her modelling them on your blog.
Happy shopping, Jennie. After the past few weeks, I hope you find it really therapeutic and it really isn’t long at all until your little darling will be in your arms, looking incredible. xx
