This week we have been making Christmas cards
We began by creating tape trees
I bought some coloured card
And some rolls of pretty tape
I think I bought ours from Lidl
And possibly from Poundland
I showed the children how to cut the tape to different lengths
And to order the lengths
From longest to shortest
To make the image of a Christmas tree
They needed a lot of help with the cutting
Especially Bea
But the rest they were able to do independently
I was really pleased with our finished results
Again especially Bea who loved sticking spots on
For baubles
All the children were focused
And worked really hard at being card makers
Coming up with their own creative ideas
Using the pretty sticky tape and dot stickers
We made trees and stars
Tinsel and baubles
We all had super simple fun
So much so that we decided the very next morning to make some more!
This time we used torn paper
And paint dabbers
We made torn paper trees
Painted trees
Got messy and made some lovely festive things
To decorate our painted trees
We used glue dots
(I LOVE glue dots)
And pom poms
This led us to thinking about
Snowflakes and snow balls
So with some foam stickers from Poundland
We set about making snowy festive scenes
With snowmen and reindeer
We have actually made some lovely cards
And we cannot wait to hand them out
To some very lovely and special people
I love handmade Christmas cards. They are given and received with such love! Yours are absolutely amazing. I’d better get on to ours!
