This year in the Edspire household is all about living
We have survived the worst of things these past six years
So now being happy and healthy is more important to all of us than ever
I have been absent a lot since Tilda died
Often in the room but not involved
In the moment but miles away
This year I am determined to make every moment count
Because we all know that moments become memories
And memories are so important
Especially when they are all you have left
Today’s special moments are tomorrow’s memories.
Genie, The Return of Jafar
Keeping healthy with three small children
Is not always easy
Life is a whirlwind
And days pass in the blink of an eye
This year I want to try and make sure
That we get outside every single day
Outdoor play is so important for young children
And fresh air is healthy for a cooped up mummy mind
Or an over thinking teacher brain
Getting out in the open is good for your soul
Children love to be out
With space to run around
To adventure and explore
We as adults must not be afraid
To join in the fun
Roll down those hills
Jump in those puddles
Paddle at the edge of the sea
You’re never too old to be young
Happy, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs
Esther and William are rarely still
And Bea is quite literally following in their footsteps
They love to run and jump and play
Last weekend we went to the sea for Tilda’s anniversary
The children ran on the sand at the beach
Biked along the shore line
On top of the sea wall
It was a lovely, windy winters day
And we all had a wonderful time
You’re not getting cold fins now, are you?
Ariel, The Little Mermaid
A walk is never just a walk with Esther and William
With the twins anything is possible
Every outing is an opportunity
For imagination and adventure
At Broadstairs there bikes became trains
And a flower bed an island
Round which they took all the family on tours
Esther and William’s imaginations know no bounds
And I am privileged to be taken along on their stories with them
From Lion King shows
To Superhero races
From fairy feasts
To pirate ‘moosic’
I am honoured to be part of their magical world
Their magical worlds
You are my greatest adventure
The Incredibles
Getting outside is so important
And can be made more enticing
Engaging and fun
By incorporating your favourite Disney characters
A few weeks ago we went out to chop ice
Just like The Hundred Men
From Frozen
I love the way my children’s minds work
Everything becomes a story or a show
With characters and a soundtrack
Costumes and dance moves
The stories they read
And the films that they see
Influence absolutely everything we do
And David and I love to encourage them
We love to join in and play along
And tap into their imaginings
Their creations
It makes every day rather wonderful
Every outing an opportunity to explore
Our greatest natural resource is the minds of our children
Walt Disney
When we cannot get outside
We bring the world inside to us
Esther and William adore sensory play
We use Disney settings to inspire imaginative small world play
The Lion King has been a favourite since the summer
Esther adores Tinkerbell and the fairies too
While William is a fan of Captain Jack and Peter Pan
Both children love Frozen
And we have been longing this winter for ice and snow
Settling for lots of warm hugs instead
When I stop teaching at Easter
We are going to start doing a lot more messy play
We are going to be taking our small worlds outside
And storytelling in the open air
We are going to be explorers
And adventurers
And we are going to record our missions here
I am so determined to do this
To live #healthilyeverafter
Healthy bodies
Healthy hearts
Healthy minds
Part of that for me
Is finding a way to bring Tilda with us on our journeys
Disney tells us
…family means no one gets left behind or forgotten
Lilo and Stitch
And I want to make sure that is true of us
I never want Tilda to be forgotten or left behind
I want this family to have amazing experiences
And magical times
But until we all meet again
I want us all to carry Tilda in our hearts
You know that place between sleep and awake? That place where you still remember dreaming? That’s where I’ll always love you… That’s where I’ll be waiting. Tinkerbell, Peter Pan
In her honour and memory we will live
#healthilyeverafter
We will enjoy magical moments together
Growing and learning together
Loving each other
We have been through the worst of times
But I hope that we have the best of times to come
And we hope that you will join us for the ride
As we begin #livingfortilda
As we start our #healthilyeverafter
The flower that blooms in adversity is the most rare and beautiful of all
The Emperor, Mulan
To help us with our mission to live a healthier, more active family life we will be turning to Disney
And you can too!
If you have been thinking about getting active and healthy
Then
Today is a good day to try
Quasimodo, The Hunchback of Notre Dame
Pop back tomorrow to see how Disney is helping us
To live #HealthilyEverAfter
With Tilda in our hearts
Memories sustain us and I wish you and the family all the best in moving forwards positively. Commenting for myself and on behalf of BritMums and thanking you for taking part
all the best for you all xx
