We are very lucky
We live in a beautiful house
A house that needs a lot of work
But a potentially beautiful house
We are very lucky
We have a wonderful garden
A space for adventure
Explorations and quests
We are very lucky
To live in a village
Surrounded by farmyards
Woodland and fields
We are very lucky
That our children
Love walking
Rambling and roaming
Hiding and seeking
Making and doing
Constructing
Concocting
We are very lucky
To have all that we need
Right on our doorstep
To make childhood memories
To treasure for a life time
We are very lucky
To have a wise and creative Daddy
A magical imaginative Mummy
And children ready and willing
To immerse, imagine and explore
We are very lucky
In spite of it all
To be able to do the things that we do
In honour
In memory
Of Matilda Mae
Just round the corner from our village
Lies Kingswood village and woods
We start our adventure at the play park
This is also where we end
After walking a roughly circular walk
Through the oak trees
And the bluebells
The wilderness that is
Kingswood Woods
With Bea in the Manduca
We venture beyond the gateway
And through the trees beyond
We look at the flowers
The leaves on the trees
We look for minibeasts
And signs of larger creatures
We pick bluebells
Collect sticks
Look for faces
And funny trees
We dawdle
We race
We lead
We follow
We talk
We laugh
We hunt
We find
We make
We do
And we do it all together
Just around the corner
From where we live
We are very lucky
We live in a beautiful house
A house that needs a lot of work
But a potentially beautiful house
We are very lucky
We have a wonderful garden
A space for adventure
Explorations and quests
We are very lucky
To live in a village
Surrounded by farmyards
