Over the past few weeks I have started thinking about Bea’s first birthday
Soon I am going to have to start making actual plans
She is 10 and a half months now
Time just keeps ticking on
And so soon her big day will be here
I am not sure how I am going to find Bea’s first birthday
Matilda Mae will be at the front of my mind
And the cruel unfairness of her not reaching her first birthday
But none of this is Bea’s fault
She deserves a special day
A very special day as she turns one
When a baby is your fourth baby
It can be very hard to know what to get them that they do not already have
Somewhere in the house
So I have been publishing a series of posts
About ideas to buy babies as they turn one
So far I have featured five water tables, five shape sorters
And five gift ideas from Beebies Baby Store
Today I want to share with you a sneaky six stackers
In my Five for a First Stacking Toys post
In my humble opinion these are not simply stackers
They are super stackers!
I begin with this offering from Bigjigs
This is a clever stacking toy, simply made with a bright fun finish. Stack the blocks one on another and build up the tall giraffe. On the other cube faces you will find numbers shown as digits and dots. Another of the faces of the wooden cubes shows animals and a fifth has holes cut out to post shapes through. There are so many ways to play and learn. This toy looks good too and would make a beautiful addition to any nursery or playroom. A great gift for a birthday or even a new baby.
A super stacker indeed!
When Esther and William were about Bea’s age they had some beautiful Djeco stacking cubes. They played with them every day in so many different ways. They were made from thick glossy card and the illustrations were beautiful. These Djeco Forest Cubes from Play Merrily look very much like our old ones. The five faces feature pictures of animals, numbers and arrays for counting. These cubes are wonderful for stacking, building, banging, storytelling, number recognition and counting. A versatile toy that also looks stunning. A perfect present idea. Play Merrily also sells the Djeco cubes Esther and William had, the beautiful Nature Stacking Cubes from Djeco.
Djeco Topanifarm Cubes
I love Djeco toys and these Topanifarm Cubes are on Bea’s birthday list, very near the top.
Six sturdy cardboard cubes house six farm animals. Wonderful for stacking and developing fine motor skills along with hand eye coordination but also fabulous for imaginative play. I can see Esther playing with these at five years old just as much as Bea at one. The cubes are beautifully decorated, brightly coloured and numbered 1 – 5 fir early number recognition and simple counting fun. This Djeco set would look lovely out on display. A great gift for a birthday or other baby occasion.
I love the look of these Sort n Shake blocks from Bright Minds. So much so in fact that I asked family to buy them for Bea for her birthday. These noisy blocks look like great fun for Bea and her older siblings to enjoy together. They can be stacked, they can be banged together and shaken. Each brightly coloured wooden block features a different animal and makes a different sound. You can use the blocks for sorting and matching games including numbers and counting, and matching animals to their food. Great educational fun for all the family and perfect for young toddler hands to play with. I also love that the blocks are littered with stars for Matilda Mae.
I ope you are starting to see why I call this stacker selection, Super Stackers. They all do so much more than just stack and the Plan Toys Bear from Babipur is very super indeed! This beautiful wooden rainbow bear will makke a treasured companion for your little one helping them to learn all about colours and shapes. To stack the bear you must small wooden shapes into the correctly shaped space to build up the bear. A very clever stacking toy and a stunning looking gift.
Babipur also sell this beautiful lighthouse stacker from Haba. The brightly coloured pieces interlock as they stack making the lighthouse sturdy enough to play with and display once built. This is a very pretty, super simple stacker for little hands. Lovely to link with The Lighthouse Keeper stories and to teach children about lighthouses shining their beacons out to sea to keep ships safe in the night. Love the link to the sea for Bea and so to Matilda Mae.
These are some of the best stackers I have seen while shopping for Baby Bea.
Do you know of a super stacker?
I would love to see
These look great! We love the Tidlo Animal stacking cubes with colours, numbers and animals on. So many things and ways to learn with them – and they stack away neatly too! Hope the birthday plans go well x
