At Tilda’s funeral we asked family to share their memories
Of our beautiful baby girl
My aunty and uncle remembered Tilda in her Bumbo seat
In the centre of our table while we ate
Like a plant pot
A very pretty plant pot
She often sat in that Bumbo
So we knew Bea never would
Tilda also used to sit in her bouncer
On the breakfast table
Something we would not repeat with Bea
Something we did not need to repeat with Bea
Thanks to the Stokke Steps Modular Highchair
The Stokke Steps System is a transformable children’s chair
It changes with a child’s growing needs
It adapts to fit different stages of family life
From newborn to weaning and beyond
We started using our Stokke Steps when Bea was around two months old
This is an incredibly clever and well designed highchair
It is suitable from birth and grows with your baby through childhood
The chair starts life with a newborn baby in bouncer formation
The Stokke bouncer can be used alone as a luxurious traditional bouncer
Or can be attached to the Steps highchair to bring baby to the table
Bea is just now at 9 weeks starting to enjoy sitting in the chair
And being part of our family meal times
She is beginning to have that fascination babies have
With people eating food
The Stokke Steps bouncer means Bea can be with us at the table
It also means she can sit in the kitchen while I do chores
At a height where she can see what is going on
We have not used the Stokke set loads
But I think it is about to become one of our most used baby items
As Bea becomes more and more alert
And finds her place in the family
Well, I was right
From two months on we have used the Steps system daily
Having Bea with us at the table for meal times and for play
Has been wonderful
We have been able to interact with her much more
Than if she had been in a bouncer on the floor
And we have been free to all eat at the same time
Without one of us always having a baby in our arms
The bouncer seems very comfortable for baby
When on the high chair frame
It is very steep
And we were grateful for the thick straps and solid plastic buckle
That make up the safety harness
For Bea the angle of the bouncer meant
That she was always mobile
Building strength and developing balance
Both if which helped to ease and improve her torticollis
Bea started sitting independently on New Years Day
Before she turned 5 months
We sat her up in the Stokke Steps High Chair
Using the padded baby seat set
A little before this
She loved being able to sit up and play
And it meant she could be even closer to us
And the family table
The large tray for the Stokke Steps
Is great for accommodating lots of toys
It also provides a perfect platform for messy and sensory play
And an easy to clean surface for all adventures in weaning
We chose to remove the padded baby set at 6 months
When Bea’s weaning journey began
Bea’s very messy exploration of food!
Is perfect for growing babies
The seat looks great in the home
It is easy to clean
It has a secure safety harness
And can be adjusted in height and depth as your baby grows
For the first few months we did not strap Bea into the chair
Until we found her doing this!
The Stokke Steps is a large high chair
And it cannot be folded flat for storage
This needs to fit your home as a permanent piece of furniture
If you do have the room the Steps system looks great
And comes in a range of styles and colour ways
The Stokke Steps is an investment
A commitment
And it is not cheap to buy
But it is used every day
For meal times and play times
It can be used with the bouncer from birth
And with the baby seat from around 5 months
We are loving watching Bea grow
Taking steps toward toddlerdom
Since Bea has started weaning
The Steps has really been value for money
It is so easy to clean
The tray and foot rest catch much of the food that Bea tries hard to throw on the floor
She is happy and comfortable in the seat through family meal times
I am looking forward to soon taking the tray off
And Bea truly joining the rest of us at the table
Still secure in the plastic seat
This is a chair that lasts a childhood
Step by Stokke Step
Meeting needs every step of the way
And looking rather fabulous while doing so
We were sent the Stokke Steps Modular Highchair in return for an honest review
Aww Bea looks so comfortable & happy in there! I actually tried my little boy in one of these Stokke chairs this week! He’s nearly two and still in his highchair but would be better to have him in a chair where he could join us at the table 🙂
