Most of my dreams I would not want to catch
Most mornings I am relieved to wake
And glad that the night is over
But once in a while
I have a dream full of stars
Littered with rainbows
Bursting with memories, hope and love
And those dreams I wish I could capture
And cling to forever
Those dreams I wish I could catch
Those are the dreams I would have come true
My wonderful magical star filled dreams
Of you
Make your own Dream Catcher
With so many of us living hectic lives, sleep is the one time our brains can completely relax. However, with more and more of us suffering from nightmares and negative dreams due to our busy lives, a dream catcher can become incredibly beneficial to ensuring we get that fantastic night’s sleep.Dream catchers actually originated with the Ojibwe people who created these magical webs simply from willow hoops and sinew. They believed the hoop represented the travel of the sun through the sky and during the night, the hole in the dream catcher only allowed good dreams to pass through – catching all negative dreams in the web. So, it is no surprise that an ever increasing number of us are in search of that magical loop.
Well, here is just how to make your very own:
What you need:
• Some feathers (choose any colour you like)
• Some beads
• A needle and a thread
• A bracelet – or anything you have that is circle in shape
• A thicker threadStep 1
Wrap your thicker thread around the bracelet or circular object you have and double secure it at the end.Step 2
Now for the needle and thread; begin by tying one end of the thread in a knot at the base of the circle. Work clockwise and stretch the string to a few spots around the circle to create a web effect. You should continue to do this and overlap each web you have created (this is called a hitch). It is here you can add beads and gems if you choose to.Step 3
Now, you need to secure your web by tying another knot at the last place you made the hitch. Ensure you tie a double knot to make sure it doesn’t come undone.Step 4
You can now add a feather by tying a piece of string from the end of the feather to the centre of the dream catcher. However, feathers aren’t all you can add – some choose to add a flower or two for a more delicate look, you can purchase these from Serenata. Try to opt for flowers that match the theme of your dream catcher.Step 5
Hang your dream catcher; many choose to hang it over their bed or on their headboard so that it is close by to them at night time. With this beautiful dream catcher, you can guarantee the perfect night’s sleep.

What a great idea for a project (nice poem by the way), my daughter has a dream catcher on her window but I think a home made one (by her of course) would work even better for her.
