From birth babies can play
Babies love interaction
From birth babies need space to move
To kick and wriggle
To lay and gaze
From birth babies love to be held
To be cuddled
To be talked to and sung to
Babies love and need people
They love and need their mummy
And their mummy adores them too
But it is not practical to play and cuddle and coo all the time
There are things a mummy needs to do
Places a mummy needs to be
And when mummy must do and be
She needs somewhere to safely leave her baby
That I am certain is why someone
Some clever someone
Designed the baby bouncing chair
Since the first bouncing chair
Used for safely stowing a baby
Keeping baby amused
Bouncing baby to sleep
The baby bouncer has evolved
There are so many styles and designs on the market now
It can be very hard to choose
We have used two bouncy chairs with Bea
A Baby Bjorn Bouncer Balance Soft
and the
Fisher Price 2-in-1 Sensory Bouncer
The Baby Bjorn is a very simple chair
It looks sleek and stylish
It folds flat for easy storage and transportation
It is a great bouncer for small rooms as it takes up very little space
Bea loved this chair
She slept soundly in it for short periods
She was raised from the floor to interact with her siblings
She could be at a great angle for watching the older children play
I like that this bouncer reacts to baby’s own movements
As the chair moves baby is developing balance and gross motor skills
The bouncer has three positions: sleep, rest and play
Thanks to proper head and back support, the bouncer has an ergonomically correct design for very young babies
Bea used this chair regularly for her first four months
Until she preferred to be upright and was busy practising her sitting
The bouncer can be changed into a comfy child’s chair
By simply reversing the fabric to hide the harness straps
This is a lovely soft bouncer for baby
A safe place to leave a little one
When there are no arms or laps available
A safe place to sleep, rest and play
The Fisher Price Sensory Bouncer
Bea adored this bouncy chair
She loved the black and white characters on the toy bar
She would sit and chat away to the ladybird
She also loved admiring herself in the mirror
We did not ever add batteries to the chair
So we did not hear the music
And Bea did not feel the vibrations
For Bea the bouncy chair was enough as it was
She loved the comfort of the deep seat
And the design of the double sided toy bar
This baby bouncer changed with Bea’s growing needs
From birth to 4 months
When our clever giant baby started sitting on her own
And trying to stand in the chair
If a friend asked me to recommend them a bouncy chair
I would be torn between the Fisher Price and the Baby Bjorn
They both have different uses and strengths
I would choose the Baby Bjorn for resting, sleeping and social interaction
And the Fisher Price for sensory and developmental play
We were sent both of these chairs to review
At Christmas we donated these chairs to families in need
Thank you Baby Bjorn and Fisher Price for making that so
That looks like a brilliant chair, my kids always loved their bouncy chairs! I can’t believe how fast be a is growing up, she’s such a beautiful baby xx
Sorry that should have said Bea but my mac changed it xx
What a great list! Your baby is so pretty. You can definitely have enough a bouncer is a moms best friend. We got our pretty late when she was about 5 months. It’s so handy especially now that she’s crawling everywhere and sometimes I just need her to sit still for a bit!
