Over the last 13 weeks I have been adjusting to life as a mummy of four
Logistically, managing three children is not new to me and so I had assumed it would be easy
I really should know by now never to assume anything
The last 13 weeks have been wonderful but they have been far from easy
I have made the most of my fourth trimester with Bea but in doing so I think my health has suffered, I am feeling fat and far from fit and I have perhaps not done as much with Esther and William as I should
This month that is all set to change
It is time to transition Bea from sleeping on or with me to sleeping in a space of her own
It is time for me to start some exercise and to think carefully about what I eat
And it is time to start making more magic for Esther and William
And for setting more time aside to play
To do that I have enlisted the help of Yumbox and The Magic Door Store
And they have agreed to help you feel magical and healthy too!
Over the next four weeks I am going to be enjoying Yumbox lunches each day and I would like to share them with you
Yumbox is the award winning, leak-proof lunchbox that makes healthy eating fun for babies, toddlers, children and adults. Follow the guidelines on the tray and pack a healthy, nutritionally balanced lunch in minutes. With its stylish, practical design Yumbox will revolutionize your families lunch!
I have been making Bento style lunches and teas for Esther and William for a while now. They call them pretty lunches or pretty teas. I had never thought of using the same theory for myself. A meal made up of small treats from different food groups. And Yumbox make this really easy to do.
The Yumbox has a single leak proof lid which means that you can store salad dressing in one of the small compartments, or yoghurt, or chutney and it will not spill onto any of the other parts of your lunch. I was very sceptical about this to begin with but then I tried it out. My yoghurt never spilled onto my granola and my salad dressing did not drip into my salad!
The Yumbox aids portion control which is something that I really need. It also helps you think about balancing the types of food that you eat.
Yumbox’s pre-portioned illustrated (and removable) tray guides you to pack a healthy and hassle-free lunch.
The Classic Yumbox tray is divided into five ½ cup portions of the key food groups: Fruit, Vegetable, Grains, Protein, Dairy. Plus a small well for a dip or a treat.
The Panino Yumbox tray is divided into a large (2 cups) portion (perfect for a sandwich or salad), 2 (1/2 cup) portions and a dip well.
I am really looking forward to getting to grips with my Panino Yumbox and sharing my journey to a healthier diet with you
As well as trying to make myself healthier, fitter, I am also going to be trying to be more fun
To help me with that I have got a Magic Door!
I actually won this door in a Facebook competition this time last year
I have just never got round to using it
The time has never been right
This month is Dinovember
The dinosaurs are in the walls
But they are coming out to play!
David removed the skirting board and embedded the door into the wood
You do not have to do this
The door comes with wall putty enabling the door to be stuck securely to the wall or skirting
The door also comes with some magic sparkle
A tiny bottle of fairy dust to bring the magic alive
Your Magic Door gives your fairy visitors their very own magical entrance into your home.
All they require is somewhere quiet and secret so they can come and go as they please, sprinkling love and magic once everyone is fast asleep.
Just imagine the excitement of discovering tiny magic dust footprints on the floor, little gifts and messages left especially by your fairy and elf friends.
Please don’t handle your Magic Door roughly, or it might frighten the fairies and elves away.
Each Magic Door comes beautifully packaged with a small bottle of Magic Dust, welcome note for the fairies and putty to attach to your wall. An inspirational gift to unlock your imagination.
The door is beautifully crafted and from The Magic Door Store you can buy some wonderful accessories to go with it
You could also have hours of fun making your own
This month there will be dinosaurs coming through our magic door, next month elves, then fairies and who knows who else the new year will bring
The possibilities are endless
And exciting
I will be sharing with you here all the magic of our door
And you could be sharing magic and food fun of your own
Yumbox and The Magic Door Store are offering a wonderful prize, just in time for Christmas.

I know a little girl who would LOVE this and I am anticipating she would imagine truly believe it was fairies that lived behind the door (she has been playing a HUGE amounts with her fairies recently and is often strutting around waving her wand!!). Natalie x
entered!! My little girl would love that door xx
I have got a new Christmas elf for us this year (after 2 years of the same elf visiting) so this door would be a perfect way for him to arrive!
It would be fairies for my daughter, she has just lost her 1st tooth and was so excited at the thought of the tooth fairy coming, even writing a tiny note for her
Near to my mums house a tree has a fairy door in it on the corner of a public road Mai thought it was amazing she couldn’t open it she said it was locked so we chatted about who lived there perhaps peter rabbit or fairies or squirrel nutkin!
I think the possibilities are as endless as our imagination, my daughters both love dinosaurs, they could stomp through; we could have a parade of animals, fairies, elves, dolls from the dolls house – toy story style! Magical indeed 🙂
I love love love the magic door idea! What a great way to stir the imagination of little ones! We could have endless fun coming up with ideas for the children to wake up to
My son is always after what he call ‘picnic lunches.’ Anything with lots of different small portions of food gets him very excited. The Yumbox is ideal!
Oh, and he would love to find a world of Lego people behind his little door. Maybe the door would open to Bricksburg??
We’d most like to find little Christmas elves living behind the door 🙂
I love the idea of fairies living behind a magic door. When I was younger we used to drive past a field with horse jumps in it on my way back from my Nanny’s house – on of the jumps right next to the road was in the shape of a cottage and my mum told me that it was where the tooth fairy lived 🙂 I loved looking out for it every time we drove past!
These lunch boxes would be perfect for us, would make lunch time far more exciting than the usual sandwich! And the magic door, for us, it would probably be an entrance for a favourite superhero, ant man.
Ohhh Christmas elves for us too.
It would have to lead to My Little Pony Land!
Your dedication of cutting the skirting out is fab. I love the Christmas themed look.
My son would like to find a whole host of JCB Diggers and Excavators and a world of building sites
