Another day another Easter activity
Today we baked biscuits before breakfast and after we did some painting
With plastic eggs
Esther and William love painting
Esther is generally the more artistic of the two
But something about today’s activity
Really appealed to William
And he produced some of his best artwork yet
Esther made a pink and purple mess
And I was equally proud of both of them
This is what we did
I put different coloured poster paints into different coloured containers
We then matched them as closely as we could with coloured plastic eggs
We used the eggs as our painting tools
William listened carefully to me explain
That to begin with we would not mix the colours
And keep each egg in the right colour and container
Esther just claimed pink and purple for her own
And set to work on her masterpiece of mess!
Esther was in her element
Lost in her own little world of creation
William was perhaps the most engaged he has ever been
In an art activity
It was wonderful to see
He carefully dipped the eggs in the paint
And then printed with them on to his page
Creating a circular explosion of colour
To begin with he was loudly printing with the eggs
And then he discovered the sensory joy
That is scraping and smearing
Spreading the paint across the page
William’s works of wonder
Inspired me to create a picture I really love
To me it looks like a chorus of angels
I was really pleased with all of our art work today
The printing
The patterns
The colours
The circles
The pictures
And yes, lovely little Esther
Even the beautiful mess!
But the highlight of our Easter activity today
Is that my non arty, non interested in art boy
Produced this
And I love it!
This was such a simple activity
Fabulous fun and brilliant results
A lovely way to start an Easter day
Painting with plastic eggs
It looks like they had a fantastic time painting! I love all the colours x
They do look like little girls with beautiful long hair waving softly in a gentle breeze 🙂 It is very interesting to how differently they use the same supplies to make something out of them. Can do so much with something very simple!
Lots of lovely painting, didn’t think to use our Easter eggs for printing when we did painting the other day! xx
Clever boy, William! He reminds me so much of Sonny x
I’ve just bought some plastic eggs but I hadn’t thought about printing with them. How lovely that the activity inspired your non art loving boy 🙂
