Yesterday was a lovely gentle day
Mostly spent in the garden which was wonderful
Before that though
We used the doppler to let Esther and William here Rainbow Baby’s heart
They loved it and so did I
Was very special
But bittersweet
Without Matilda Mae
Esther, William and Daddy chose me some very thoughtful presents
A star stamp with the initial M
So I can stamp Tilda’s sign into all the cards and letters that we write
A beautiful Willow Tree Cherish figurine
A statue of a mummy cuddling her bump
It says ‘Waiting for a miracle’
They bought a lovely bird feeder for Baby Tilda’s garden
And some of my favourite maternity pyjamas from The Essential One
Esther was very proud that she had written an E for Esther
And an M for Mummy in the card
I also got a card from Baby Tilda stamped with starry Ms
Esther and William were such a delight to be around
They always are to be fair
But there was something magical about yesterday
Once we were all dressed we went out into the garden to play
David took some lovely pictures of my rainbow bump
As a momento of the day
We played and rested and ate snack
And then we went on a rainbow star hunt
Which was lots of fun
As predicted my smiles were edged with tears
As the little girl missing tugged on my heart
She would have loved the day!
Chasing round after Esther and William
Never quite keeping up
Baby Tilda would have loved today
She would have loved the teddy bear tea
Esther and William thought it was just wonderful
The teddies filled the room
It made it feel a little less empty somehow
I enjoyed making the lunch
It gave me some time out from the happiness
To reflect and feel sad
We all enjoyed the jam and cream scones
Very much indeed!
After lunch and some more play
We blew our bubble kisses to the sky
The giant bubbles did not work very well
As there was no wind
But we had great fun trying
And Daddy made us special bubble wands
To send bubbles to the sky
It was very special family time
After which I went for some quiet time
I snuggled up with my bump
And dreamed of Matilda Mae
Our beautiful daughter
Our little girl missing
Our baby Matilda Mae
Today was a gentle Mothers’ Day
I am glad that it happened the way that it did
A quiet day in the garden

It sounds like it was the perfect gentle Mother’s Day for you and I’m so glad. You are looking wonderful with your bump and how lovely that you got to have some special time to snuggle with your rainbow baby and think about MM. I lit a candle for her and for you when we went to church on Sunday morning, on Mother’s Day – you are always in my thoughts and prayers xx
You and your family are so often in my thoughts, and that was especially the case on Mothers’ Day. xxxx
