Today my three and a half year old twins made me so proud
We went for a Day Out with Thomas at KESR
Part of the day is a ride on a steam train
We shared a carriage compartment with a lovely family
With a four year old girl and a two year old boy
The four year old was very very proud of her baby brother
Who of course was about the age that Tilda should be
The lovely little girl went on and on about her baby brother
How he was her baby and she could kiss him and hug him
How he could sit on her lap for more cuddles
You could see William, and Esther, but especially William
Looking at the girl and her baby brother
Seeing the love between them
The connection between them
You could see them processing this
And thinking, wondering
I watched them, watching them
And I knew it was just a matter of time
Before the question came
The preschoolers chatted away to one another
Exchanging names and making jokes
Sharing facts about their families
And then it came
The little girl asked Esther and William
‘Do you have a baby?’
As my tears began to fall
William quietly but confidently answered
‘Yes, our baby is in the sky’
The mummy looked at me
I looked from her to William and back to her
And confirmed
‘Yes, our baby is in the sky’.
The carriage fell to silence
And my eyes leaked bubbles
As Esther would say
As just for a moment we all turned our thoughts
Our hearts
To our beautiful baby in the sky
I am such a proud mummy
With a heart so full of love
Pride and love for all of my children
Every single one of them x
Sending hugs, your children are so sweet xx
Oh how very sweet of William. You have every right to be proud of all of your children. *hugs* Xx
They’ve only shared such a short time together, but this just shows that Matilda is and will always be in their hearts x
Oh Jennie, that has just made me cry. Sending you all lots of love x x x
