Esther and William love a box. They especially love a box filled with goodies.
We have been reviewing a Rainy Day Box and it could be one of our best loved boxes yet!
So much so that I am considering spending £5.99 a month on each child so that they each receive a rainy day box of goodies each month. The Letter Box Scheme is a subscription service from The Rainy Day Box Co that means children can get a very special deliver of goodies every four or five weeks.
I think Esther and William would genuinely love it. Especially if all the boxes are as good as the Spring one that we have been reviewing!!!
Our Spring Box contained something to bake, something to make, something to create, something to play and some stickers. Esther and William adore stickers so I let them have these first. I gave them each a blank sheet of paper and they created pictures with their farm animal stickers.
William enjoyed the stickers and the game. We had a Pop Up Pirate Game which was great to play a few times but Esther and William soon worked out which slot triggered the pirate and then lost interest.
William’s favourite activity by far was baking biscuits. Both children helped to mix the ingredients, checked the oven many many times as they baked and both loved eating them.
We do not do very much baking at home mostly because I am not very good at it so to have something ready prepared like this was wonderful.
The only ingredient we needed to find was butter. I think I added too much of it really but it just made the chocolate cookies even richer and more buttery. We ate them all wile they were still warm and they were delicious!
The craft activities had enough materials for both children to have a go and also allowed for mistakes to be made.
William I must admit was just not interested in making a crown or a butterfly but Esther, well she loved it. She was so focused and worked so hard and it was wonderful to see. This spring box was perfect for Esther and she completed the craft activities with a little help making end products that she was pleased with. Proud of.
The craft kits come packaged neatly together and include everything that you need including glue.
Esther sat for ages getting her crown and butterfly just as she wanted them and for one so young she really did concentrate on the task in hand. It was a joy to watch.
At one point the butterfly started to look like a fairy or an angel and we thought it might be made into a Baby Tilda.
As we worked on these different projects and played the game too, we talked. We discussed what we were doing and it was a lovely way to slow down and spend some quality time together.
The Rainy Day Box Co have made a Travel Box for the summer holidays which looks wonderful to take away with you on your hols. The box costs £9.99 and includes
1 x Fishing Game
1 x Water Travel Game
1 x Decorate Sunglasses Kit
1 x Make a Floating Boat
1 x Summer Stickers
I think this would be great to take away on holiday to provide some quiet activities for the holiday and games for travelling.
The Rainy Day Box Co has created boxes of boredom busting ideas. Everything you need neatly packaged to use at home or away.
You can buy themed boxes or build a box of your own. The Spring Box we had was perfect for Esther but for William I might make something like this!
If you are looking for ideas and inspiration to make, bake, create and play with your children then do check out The Rainy Day Box Co and their little boxes full of fun.
We were sent one Spring Box worth £9.99 for the purpose of this review.
I’ve been eyeing these up for a while. I especially love the idea of being able to take them on holiday. I’ll be keeping these in mind for when S is a little older
This looks super! I’m definitely going to get one for M 🙂
