One Week On

One week on

We walked again.

Esther and William wore their ‘My Star is Shining Bright’ t-shirts from Next, and their lovely new hairstyles!

We went to the Rare Breeds Centre with our dear friends who were unable to walk with us last weekend.

It was so lovely to show them the walk and enjoy the route again.

As David and I led the walk last week, Esther and William stayed in the buggy.

Today they were able to get out and have a play, smell the bluebells, ride log trains and meander their way slowly through the farm.

The sun started to shine as we walked through the bluebell woods, once again I wondered if perhaps Tilda was lighting our way?

Esther and William enjoyed running through the bluebells and resting a while at the fairy ring.

We stopped in the clearing by the rainbow wood to blow bubble kisses and call hello to Baby Tilda in the sky.

Everyone blew their own kisses which was really very sweet.

Esther and Daddy danced around the totem pole while William drove his imaginary train and continued trying to blow bubbles from his empty bubble pot. He can be so cute sometimes!

Esther loved the dancing and even persuaded Daddy to join in.

As we continued on through the farm we stopped for photos at The Giant’s Chairs.

We then ran down the grassy hill to the Mysterious Marsh where we played in the musical corner and with the newly filled sandpit. All the children had a lovely time and would have stayed here for much of the day if we had let them.

But we went on to the adventure play trail where Esther and William displayed their confidence and independence as they scurried off to climb and slide on their own. It is quite scary to see their capabilities now they are nearly three.

After lots of running, balancing, climbing and sliding we walked through the farm, visited the butterfly tunnel and the garden before going for a tractor ride with the naughty farmer who drives over the roundabouts!!

Esther and William love the naughty farmer!

As we were leaving we came across a little barn owl who stopped to say hello. Magical moments like these are why we love the Rare Breeds Centre and why we are so pleased that they agreed to host Baby Tilda’s Memory Walk.

Now we can go back there whenever we want and feel close to Matilda Mae.

Any day can become a Tilda day

And I love that!

  1. Love the picture of Esther in the woods – she really suits her hair do! So glad you had a lovely Saturday xx

  2. We went to a beach on Friday and I wrote MM in the sand for your gorgeous daughter. I would have written her whole name but it was only a tiny patch of sand amongst the shingle.

That’s a barn owl, by the way, not a snowy owl.

    Xxxx

    • In the car today I was chatting away about the snowy owl we met and David said, you know it is a barn owl, which of course I do but did not check my writing. Will edit post x

  3. Oh my goodness – what a difference haircuts can make to young children – Esther has turned into a little girl! (If that makes sense) She’s a beauty Jenny, they both are. This sounds like a lovely day, another special place you can return to and feel close to baby Tilda. Lovely photos and words – as always xx

  4. The Centre is such a lovely place, worthy for it to be the place to have Tilda Days. I wish it was closer to us, because it is somewhere that is peaceful, entertaining for kids and very educational on so many levels.
Was the woods with plagues by the trees a memorial woods or a conservation woods?
