This is our quiet bag.
It is stored next to the sofa in the lounge and contains, unsurprisingly, toys we enjoy using together at quiet time.
Shape sorters are a favourite quiet time toy and we have quite growing range of them including the Big Jigs Farm House Shape Sorter that we are currently putting through it’s paces as part of the Big Jigs Play Patrol Finalists Challenge. More on that coming very soon!
We also keep a box of Thomas jigsaws in this bag alongside a range of wooden puzzles.
The wooden puzzles are mostly from Melissa and Doug and are perfect for toddler hands with their chunky pieces. The puzzles are great for learning words, numbers, colours and much more. We like to have time races to see who can complete a puzzle the fastest.
In this quiet bag we also keep some lovely felt star wands made for us by Anna at The Imagination Tree. We often wave them to the sky when we are thinking of our star, Baby Tilda.
We often think of Baby Tilda during our quiet time as lots of her toys were kept in the lounge too. She also enjoyed stealing these quiet time toys, particularly the dinosaurs from the puzzle and the Numberjacks numbers. She loved to have a good old chew on those!
Esther and William love numbers. They are very good at counting to 12 and recognising numbers to 12. They are quite good at counting to 20. Though William insists that fifteen is fiveteen, which is right really when yo u think about it.
We have a great counting machine that helps Esther and William count to 5 and back again. It is also helping them start to learn very simple calculations.
They love crunching numbers!
Our quiet bag houses mainly wooden toys. Toys that encourage Esther and William to exercise their minds as they develop their motor skills. We also have some wooden balls in the bag that we use for making up different games.
During quiet time Esther and William like to find something that they can really concentrate on for a short period of time before we venture back to the garden or playroom.
William loves the click clack cars, Esther will spend ages with the dress up teddies and both love our wooden music maker.
The toys in the bag are added to every few weeks so that there is always a new challenge for the twins to try.
These are toys that Esther and William love to play with me but can also get out and get on with independently. That has been very useful today as I have been feeling so under the weather.
This is our quiet bag and will be the perfect new home for the Big Jigs Farm House Shape Sorter.

I love the idea of the quiet bag, and I’m sure you needed it today after the tiring day you had yesterday. Hope you get some rest and begin to feel better soon. Lots of love to you xx
Another fab idea for organising toys. Thank you for sharing!
