Is it possible to fall in love with wooden toys?
If it is, I definitely have.
We have, as a family.
With EverEarth, discovered through the treasury of toys that is Eco Toy Store.
William got this workbench for Christmas from Granny and Grandad which he loves. Matilda was sent this beautiful walker to review and the three of them got a 7 in 1 Activity Centre to share from Father Christmas.
It has fast become our favourite toy.
Our EverEarth 7 in 1 Activity Centre sits in our lounge between two wooden children’s chairs and beside our boxes of books.
In the lounge we keep our early morning toys, as it is the warmest room in the house when we first get up, and our quiet time toys, puzzles and games.
The toys in this room are ones that Esther, William and Matilda can play with together or independently.
When I chose the EverEarth activity centre as their joint present this Christmas I had visions in my mind of them all sat around it playing together and I have not been disappointed. They can often be found all together around the activity box each playing with a different part of the toy. Moments like this make my mummy heart melt.
This is a toy that encourages learning about shapes, colours and numbers. It enables children to practice and develop their fine motor skills. It facilitates conversation, collaboration, turn taking and sharing. It is a perfect family toy, especially if like me, you have three children all close together in age. It is also great for sharing with friends.
The bead maze on the top is a popular feature. There are four separate bead tracks, each a different colour, so there are enough tracks for one each, or two each if only Esther and William are playing. Esther and William have bead races and they also love seeing who can match the shapes to their pictures the quickest too.
Esther and William love shapes and have always been good at matching and identifying them but it only since owning this activity centre from Everearth that they have become so confident with trapeziums!
This is a beautifully painted, brightly coloured garden inspired toy.
It keeps the children engaged for so long. I knew that Esther and William would love exploring this activity centre but what has really taken me by surprise is how long Matilda will play with it. She really concentrates on trying to move the beads and she loves spinning the shapes on the abacus. I think she is drawn to the lovely colours and illustrations. It really is a beautiful toy.
Matilda loves watching the wobbling creatures that you can spin and move around the top of the centre and also the wobbly racing insects on the side.
There is something for everyone on the EverEarth 7 in 1 Activity Centre.
This hexagonal shaped activity centre has 7 different activities that your little one can play with.
Around the 6 edges your little one will find a range of things to do:
Side 1 – Your little one can learn their shapes. Included in the Activity Centre is a bag of shapes that are magnetic, and when you’re little one matches them to the same shape on the side of the activity centre they will stick together. A great activity to learn shapes, hand-eye co-ordination and colours.
Side 2 – Their is an abacus with numbered beads. The abacus has 4 rows. On the first row is a coloured set of beads without numbers, row 2 contains beads with the numbers 1-5, row 3 has another set of beads without numbers and row 4 has a set of beads containing the numbers 6 – 10. This is a great activity for your little one to learn to count.
Side 3 – Has a set of twisting cogs, by turning one cog the other cogs will turn too.
Side 4 – Has a twisting puzzle that your little one can push the shapes to the top and watch them as they twirl back down to the bottom
Side 5 – Has a tree effect puzzle, where your little one can twist and turn the shapes in and around the branches of the tree
Side 6 – Is where your little one can get to learn different shapes such as love hearts, stars, pentagons, diamonds and the usual squares, triangles etc… Similar to an abacus, side 6 is a bead activity that your little one can play with
And we can’t forget the range of beads and wires that sit on the top of the Activity Centre and the different garden animals such as butterflies that your little one can push along the grooves and move them up and down.
This is a toy perfect for tiny hands to grab hold of and play with. It is made of good quality wood and is a sturdy stand alone unit. Matilda tries to pull herself up to standing whilst playing so I think it is great for cruising babies to help build strength and stamina in their legs. The different activities enable young toddlers to work on their language and problem solving skills when playing alongside a parent or carer. We talk so much when we use this together as a family.
One of William’s favourite things to do is identify numbers and so he loves the tree puzzle where you can move a creature to reach a given number. He also loves the numbers on the abacus.
I love the fact that the shapes can be taken off and really felt and handled. They can also be used in a feely bag to help children get to know how different shapes feel. The shape sorter can also be used as a very basic introduction to magnets.
This toy is recommended for children from 3 years and up. Esther and William are 2.5 years today and Matilda Mae will be just 9 months next week. They all use this EverEarth Activity Centre daily and each get something very different from it. I think it has been a wonderful addition to our home and I think we bought it at just the right age as I think that the activities provided are suitable for them now and will grown with them as they grow.
A lovely toy for sibling sharing and socialising.
