Before the dawn of 2013 I wanted to share some more Christmas with you.
Today … our memory tree.
Our Christmas tree changes slightly every year.
The colours are red, gold and green and the decorations follow this theme on the whole.
We have red, green and white felt snowflakes.
Button stars.
Striped woolly hearts.
Shiny red bells.
Gold beaded stars.
Wooden stars with words from our favourite carols.
Pine cones.
A toy soldier.
A floral bird.
David and I got the star that sits atop our tree the very first Christmas that we were together. We will not change it now until our family is complete. The year our fourth and final baby is born (assuming we are that lucky) then we will put a brand new star on the top of our tree.
On the higher branches of our tree are personalised porcelain baubles given to Esther and William the year that they were born.
Also adorning the upper branches is a shiny red train representing this year’s toddler twin obsession.
This year Esther and William have got personalised reindeer nestled in the tree leaves. Matilda a large wooden star.
We have embroidered decorations and wooden ones too. Baubles satin shiny and matt.
This year we changed our white lights for colour at the toddlers request and I think now there will be no going back.
This year for the first time there are tree decorations made by Esther at pre school. None from William this year, but that will long be a memory in itself.
This beautiful evergreen dwells in our home for two weeks of the festive season.
The memories it celebrates live on in our hearts and our minds for always.
Merry Christmas, many memories.
