Meal Planning Monday 5:2 Week 3

So David and I are following the 5:2 diet that we saw on BBC Horizon.

David is being very disciplined. I am cheating a little, though not really as I need the extra calories for breastfeeding. Mostly I seem to be surviving on rice cakes and very nice they are too, especially the chocolate ones. I even eat them on non fasting days!

On feast days we eat what we like but we do not seem to be eating more than we did on a normal day before the diet began.

I am feeling quite hungry on fasting days but find that drinking lots of water and sugar free squash helps with that.

I have lost a little weight in the two weeks we have been following the plan but my weight does seem to fluctuate from day to day. Some days I am 9 stone 2 and others 9 stone 7 so I am taking an average that would be about 9 stone 5 meaning that I have lost 2 pounds.

My target, pre pregnancy, wedding day, weight is 8 stone 11. I am determined to get there.

This is our meal plan for the week ahead

Monday (Fast Day)
Breakfast Cheerios with skimmed milk
Lunch Mushroom Cuppa Soup
Dinner Chicken noodle soup with two cheese rice cakes
Supper Cup of tea and four chocolate rice cakes

Tuesday
Breakfast Cheerios with skimmed milk
Snack Grapes, apple and salt and vinegar rice cakes
Lunch Crumpets and ham
Dinner Pimped Up Pizza with Salad
Supper Raspberries and chocolate rice cakes

Wednesday
Breakfast Cheerios with skimmed milk
Snack Raspberries and chocolate rice cakes
Lunch Cheese on toast
Dinner Steak Mince Fajitas

Thursday (Fast Day)
Breakfast Cheerios with skimmed milk
Lunch Chicken Noodle Cuppa Soup with a cheese rice cake
Snack Grapes with a salt and vinegar rice cake
Dinner Boiled egg, toast and two slices of ham
Supper Raspberries and two chocolate rice cakes

Friday
Breakfast Cheerios with skimmed milk
Snack Grapes, apple and salt and vinegar rice cakes
Lunch Boiled eggs and toast
Dinner Spinach and Ricotta Canneloni with salad and Parma Ham

Saturday
Breakfast Cheerios with skimmed milk
Lunch Scrambled eggs on toast
Dinner Chicken Fajitas

Sunday
Breakfast Cheerios with skimmed milk
Lunch Tomato Soup and wholemeal bread
Dinner Beef Canneloni and Stir Fry Veg (Warm Salad)

I am quite excited about our meals this week.

And so hungry now as our first fast day of the week draws to a close!

Will wait til tomorrow before browsing other people’s menus I think.
