As a new mum – you really haven’t a clue what you need for your new baby and end up pouring over websites / looking at list after list and trying desperately to find out what you really do need- believe me- we’ve been there! You then spend a fortune on things that sit in the wardrobe or only get worn once – things that many others convinced you you needed to buy.

So – that’s where we come in. It’s simple really.

100% cotton is critical for us. We use it everywhere we can. It’s fully combed and superfine so gorgeously soft – It really is the best fabric to use against your baby’s delicate skin and is not only fully breathable but has thermal properties which help keep baby warm when it’s cold and cool when it’s warm. There are no nasty trims on our garments- all our poppers and metal items are nickel free to avoid irritation, our embroideries have soft inner backings and even our Essential One label is super soft at the back of baby’s neck.

One other thing that frustrated us … poor service, waiting an eternity for a package and having your gorgeous new baby things arrive in a plastic bag – sent with no tender loving care whatsoever. Not with us! We believe it is equally important that you are delighted with the way you receive your new things as much as you love the items themselves… so with us…it’s gorgeous tissue paper every time, a spritz of our exclusive allergen free baby fragrance to evoke that new baby scent and wrapped with real care.

The website is pretty to look at, easy to navigate and packed with great products and useful information. You can buy products, create a wish list, compare different products and find coordinating ones. The photos are really clear and feature some rather beautiful babies and of course the fabulous Essential One clothes and accessories. I have my eye on this snowsuit for Matilda and when I look at it online I am also shown matching items from The Essential One range.

Delivery
When your parcel from The Essential One arrives you will find your purchases carefully wrapped in soft tissue paper and scented with The Essential One’s very own Baby Scent. It is wonderful! Every time I receive something from this family focused company I smile and inhale deeply to enjoy the delicate, fabulous fragrance. When I unwrap my products I am never disappointed by what I find inside.

Autumn Vest

The vests and sleepsuits feel so soft and they always seem to fit really well. The stripes, spots and stars from the autumn range suit Matilda so well. There are great vests and sleepsuits that would suit both girls and boys.

The Baby Grows and all Essential One clothing is made from 100% superfine cotton making the suits super soft against Matilda’s skin. They keep her warm and comfortable day and night.

Washing
Matilda Mae wears her Essential One clothing all the time and as she is a very dribbly baby I seem to be washing it all the time. The vests and sleepsuits wash really well. They look good as new time and time again.

Good as New!

Keeping
Because the clothes and accessories from The Essential One are so gorgeous and wash so well, they are definitely things you can keep for your next baby or to give to friends and family. Each set of vests and sleepsuits comes in a matching cotton drawstring bag so that you can keep the clothes together. I think that this is such a great idea and the bag has many uses. We use ours for taking out spare clothes when we go out or for putting dirty clothes into when we are away. Esther and William also like to play with them and often pack them up ready for teddy bears picnics. The bags are a lovely idea and have lots of possible uses.

And the great thing about all of the above is that it does not cost the earth. I was really surprised when I found out that a set of three sleepsuits costs only £18. For such great quality and such friendly, efficient service, such attention to detail … I think the prices are an absolute steal providing brilliant value for money.

If you or anyone you know are expecting a baby this Autumn or already have a little baby on their hands then please do look at The Essential One. I know that I will never look anywhere else for new baby gifts again.
