Boots Mini Club Clothing Review

About a month ago I received a perfectly packaged parcel through the post from Boots.com.

Inside were some beautiful clothes for Esther, William and Matilda. The items had been carefully chosen to complement one another and had been wonderfully wrapped and presented. It felt like a very special present had arrived just for us.

I was very keen to look through the clothes that we had been sent to review and Esther was too!

Parcel from Mini Club

Each of the children were sent two complete summer outfits from the Boots Mini Club clothing range. I had seen clothes in Boots before but never would have chosen it as a place to look for children’s clothing. I always think of Boots as a chemist. I was very very pleasantly surprised by all of the clothes that we were sent to review; and since receiving and trying the clothes featured in this post I have spent over a £100 on clothes for my three from the Mini Club range.

Their clothes really are fantastic!

Pretty dress and summer shirt

Esther was sent this 100% cotton stripey summer dress that fastened at the back with a zip. I was really unsure about the zip at first and thought it was a very strange way to fasten such a delicate girly dress but actually it really worked and made dressing my fidgety toddler a breeze. Esther wore the dress with a cardigan over (also Mini Club) and with a short sleeved vest underneath. It looks better without anything underneath, when the weather is warm enough. The cardigan is the item Esther has had the most wear out of in the last month, wearing it over dresses and with jeggings. It is a very cute cardigan, just plain with short sleeves. It can really change the way an outfit looks which I like and of course it helps to keep her warm.

William is modelling a white cotton shirt with a retro feel, turquoise aeroplane motif. I love this shirt and it really turned my baby into a little boy. I think he looked really handsome and the shirt complemented Esther’s dress perfectly. As twins I like Esther and William’s clothes to complement each other and particularly so on special occasions.

On Sunday we had a party for Esther and William’s birthday which gave them opportunity to wear another outfit from Mini Club from their Bows and Arrows Collection.

William had a fabulous brightly multi-coloured shirt over a white t-shirt. he had been sent some beige cargo style shorts to wear with this but they were too big and kept falling down. Poor old William though he is now 2 still wears size 9 – 12 months trousers! The clothes were very well made and felt comfortable. William seemed happy in them when playing at his party. They also look a lot more expensive than they are, I think making them perfect toddler clothes as though they look like you have spent lots of money you do not worry if they get covered in ice cream and jam!!!

Everybody commented on Esther’s beautiful corsage dress in a burnt yellow colour with a bright pink lining. She looked like a fairy princess with the netted skirt. I was very busy at the party and unable to get many photos of the dress in action but it really was quite stunning. Again it looked a lot more expensive than it was and it was comfortable for Esther to wear for a long period of time. Esther got lots of strawberry juice on the neck of her dress and I have washed it out now and the dress is still in perfect condition. Another great plus for Boots Mini Club clothing and for busy mums, the clothes are machine washable and they wash and dry well.

The outfits sent for Matilda were I think my favourites. The beautiful blue and white spotty dress with frilly hat is just adorable. It is vintage inspired and makes me think of Milly Molly Mandy and other characters of my childhood. Matilda has not yet worn this dress but it is beautifully made and I know is going to look simple but stunning. It is a timeless classic that can be handed down from generation to generation. A very pretty dress.

The second outfit for Matilda was a very bright and funky, floral and stripy romper dress. The colours really suit Matilda and they complement the birthday party outfits worn by Esther and William. How good does Matilda look in this dress?

My one disappointment was that with the baby and the toddler dresses there were no coordinating knickers or bloomers. I think this is really important for girls still in nappies to complete an outfit as otherwise their nappies are always on show and that is never a good look! And that is one of the reasons why I love this romper dress as it has the vest built in. The contrasting patterns really work and give this outfit a fresh, modern look and a summery feel. Matilda looked pretty but the outfit was still practical for a relatrively small baby who spends most of her time lying down legs akimbo!

This review has introduced me to Boots Mini Club clothing and as I have said already, since testing these outfits I have ordered more clothes for Esther, William and Matilda. The clothes provide great value for money and cover a range of tastes and styles. At the moment Mini Club are having a fantastic end of season sale including most of the clothes featured in this review.

Mini Club has a range of collections to suit everyone newborn to young child. The Bows and Arrows collection is my favourite I think. Why not pop over to the Boots website yourself, I am certain that you will find at least one outfit for your little one that you and they will adore. The website is easy to navigate and the sizing guide easy to use and understand. Go on, have a look, you know you want to!
