This week I have decided to join in with Meal Planning Monday.
I am starting to think that the reason that I keep getting ill and the reason I take so long to get better is because my diet is becoming increasingly poor.
I know that I am a busy mum of three babies but that makes eating properly more important not less, especially as I am breastfeeding.
A lot of the time I do not eat properly because there are not easy healthy snacks available quickly so I am going to plan all food including snacks.
I am realising one of the main keys to being a good mummy to a larger brood is to be well planned and organised.
Oh, and to have the patience of a Saint!
So here is my attempt at meal planning on a Monday
Breakfast
Breakfast each morning in our house is Shreddies and/or Cheerios with semi-skimmed milk for adults and full fat for the twins.
Mid-Morning Snack
Monday – grapes, cheese and crackers
Tuesday – raspberries, blueberries and strawberries
Wednesday – wholemeal toast
Thursday – grapes, cheese and crackers
Friday – cheese and raisins
Saturday – cereal bar and a banana
Sunday – toast with peanut butter
Lunch
Monday – Cheese spread sandwich, apple and rice cakes
Tuesday – Ham sandwich, apple and rice cakes
Wednesday – Grapes, cheese and crackers
Thursday – Cheese spread sandwich, apple and rice cakes
Friday – Ham sandwich, apple and rice cakes
Saturday – Cheese on Toast
Sunday – Eggy Bread
Dinner
Monday – Spinach and ricotta cannelloni with salad
Tuesday – Prawns, brown rice and stir fried vegetables
Wednesday – Lasagne with salad
Thursday – Pizza with salad
Friday – Salmon, cous cous and stir fried vegetables
Saturday – Beef fajitas
Sunday – Sausages, mashed potato and sweetcorn
Sounds quite nice and more importantly it sounds healthy and easy to achieve.
If this works for us I will be back next Monday and may begin to be a little adventurous!
I have been meaning to do more meal planning and quie frankly I am so bored of what I cook, and have just come across this meme which I think is ia great idea! Hope to become involved in it, your week sounds lovely!
I can’t survive without my meal plan these days! Definitely the way to go with little ones in the house… This all sounds really yummy, my pair would be quite happy coming round to yours 😉 For a healthy snack for you if you need to grab something quick I can recommend 9bars – they are full of seeds so lots of protein. I ate them quite a bit when I was breastfeeding and didn’t have many free hands!
Ooooh thank you. I took some 9 Bars in my hospital bag. Only ate them once we were at home but I do remember them being yummy x
Would help if Tesco had everything that you ordered in stock!
Being easy to achieve is the first step – it won’t seem like a chore then. Looks like a lovely meal plan!
sounds delicious – and healthy too. Hope it is going well! x
