Big Book Little Book Cardboard Box are one of my favourite new discoveries. They provide a green, affordable storage solution for baby and toddler books.
I found this family and environmentally friendly company through this month’s Keep Britain Breastfeeding Scavenger Hunt as they are very kindly supporting the event and have donated one of the prizes for the grand draw.
Our house is filled to bursting with books. Every single room has a box or basket of books and our dining room serves also as our library.
We have books for every occasion and season, books for all ages and abilities, all interests, ideas and passions.
Esther and William already love books and join in with us reciting their favourite stories. They love leafing through pages and describing what they see.
We have story time at least twice every single day and Esther and William enjoy book browsing when I am feeding Matilda.
The storage solution provided by Big Book Little Book is fabulous and very toddler friendly. It is designed with little people in mind and enables them to browse book covers at their level. It is the perfect height for crawling babies and as toddlers Esther and William love to sit in front of their book box and flick through choosing the texts they want to read. Before our cardboard shelf arrived this would have involved tipping all the books all over the floor. Now they can view their books and make their choices without taking them out of the box. Most of the time!!
Big Book Little Book Cardboard Box holds up to 40 forward facing books. There are two sections, one for larger books and one for little books. The low front of the box enables little people to flick through titles independently and choose the book they most want to read.
Big Book Little Book Cardoard Box is a green, sustainable product which is made in the UK. The book storage is made from 80% recycled material and is 100% reusable, recyclable and biodegradble.
What is there not to like?
We have just bought a new house for the Edspire family and hope to move within 6-8 weeks. In the new house each of our children will have their own room and there will also be a playroom. Since having one of these book boxes to review I have decided that each room in our house will have one, including the downstairs loo!
In the lounge I am going to keep a seasonal box of books that can be taken out to the garden to be enjoyed. In the kitchen we will keep recipe and baking books, the playroom will house arts and crafts books as well as our favourute stories. We have a box of puppets too that will sit nicely beside the books.
I am going to get the children to decorate each of the boxes which I know they will love to do and will give each of them ownership of their special box of books. I may have to get one for myself actually to keep my bedtime reading and also texts used to research for blogging. So many things to do!
I am so excited about this product and think that every little person’s room should have one, filled with fabulous stories and pictures, poems and songs.
It is so important to foster a love of words in our children and also to develop a respect for books. Havng such a lovely, ethical way of storing treasured texts will help children understand how to care for them.
Big Book Little Book Cardboard Box book storage can be bought online and prices start at £12 for one box.
“A house without books is like a room without windows. No man has a right to bring up his children without surrounding them with books, if he has the means to buy them.” Horace Mann
I was sent one book storage box for the purposes of this review.
