We started weaning Esther and William over a year ago now. As someone who is not at all confident in the kitchen I have always relied on ready made baby foods and particularly those from Hipp Organic.
I love their combinations of foods for babies and toddlers. I love their use of organic ingredients and their snack range is great and healthy too.
Our latest favourite here in the Edspire household are Hipp’s 100% Fruit Pouches.
They really are super fruity with each pouch providing up to two portions of fruit. They are easy to eat on the go with minimal mess now that we have mastered where to squeeze and how hard. They are also great for adding to yoghurts or rice pudding at tea time if you find babies or toddlers lacking in their fruity five for that day. They come in a range of fantastic fruity flavours and are resealable meaning that very little, if any, goes to waste. Esther and William love them and they love the independence that come with being able to feed themselves.
At 18 months, 15 months corrected, Esther and William are at the stage of food development where they like to be able to feed themselves. They have their own little forks and spoons for use at meal times though mostly they are still shovelling it in by hand! I am at peace with the mess now and realise that meal times will not be like this forever.
In their bowls I give Esther and William half a Hipp Toddler Meal each and I have another Toddler Tray Meal (same variety) so that I can put some in their mouths between their own haphazard spoonfuls. It seems to work well for us and it means that I know they are getting at least part of a good healthy dinner, the part that is not eagerly fed to the floor!
We love Hipp Organic foods because we know the facts!
Hipp food is gently steam cooked to seal in the goodness.
There are no additives or preservatives.
They only use pure mineral water from their own protected source.
Hipp grow and nurture their organic ingredients on dedicated farms.
Hipp harvest their fruits and vegetables at the peak of ripeness.
Basically we know that Hipp Organic care not only for their food stuffs but for the children and families that eat it.
Hipp Organic have a great website to help parents with every stage of weaning and food development. I love checking the site to see if Esther and William are doing the things that they should be doing and ensuring that I am giving them enough of the right types of food. At the moment I am also enjoying browsing the A-Z of Pregnancy and Child Health. A great free resource!
To help new Mums even further Hipp have their very own Baby Club which is free to join.
There are lots of benefits to joining the club including expert weaning advice, access to parent forums and lots of free samples and vouchers.
We started using Hipp Organic products in May 2011 and we have honestly not looked back. We still use lots of their baby foods today to add goodness and flavour to home cooked meals. I add fruit puree to rice puddings and yoghurts. We also spread it on toast. I use smooth vegetable purees as pasta sauces and find that this works a treat. For breakfast we love Hipp Cereals and sometimes add a squeeze of puree to our porridge to make it extra fruity!
If you have a baby ready to be weaned why not check out Hipp Organic today and join the Baby Club as a way of setting you off on the right track.
