What Next for the Edspire Household

2012.

A new year, a new beginning.

A new baby!

Over the next two weeks David is busy with the BETT Show but after that we are Operation Baby in the Edspire House.

There is so much to do! And after BETT just 16 weeks to do it!

To be honest we have really outgrown our current house and so will be looking to move later in the year but in the meantime we need to make the most of the space that we currently have.

When Baby 3 comes she will be in our room for at least 6 months. I want to make her corner of the room nice for her but I do not want it to take over in the way that Esther and William took over our room when they came home … and are now taking over our house!!!

I have chosen to base her little space on Next’s Natural Polka range in the nursery section.

I am ordering

Polka Dot fitted sheets two pack £12

Natural Polka Bed in a Bag £55

Natural Polka Bunting £10

Natural Fabric Tubs £25

I am going to use these key items as a basis for creating a calm, natural sleeping area for Baby together with these natural storage baskets that I already have.

I can do this as I know she will have plenty of stimulation in other areas.

This will be a space for calm time, for sleep!

Also neutral in case baby 4 is a boy!

With Baby sharing with us it means that we will move back into the original nursery. Esther and William will move into our current room next door. They will continue to share while we are in this house with their jungle theme but when we move to the next house they will each have a room of their own and for their second birthday they will have their bedrooms completely kitted out from the Next children’s bedroom section.

I love the Rosette aqua polka dot and gingham theme for Esther which can also be mixed in with her current bedding that is of similar colouring. It is also girly without being too pink. Esther is not really a pinky pink girl.

William loves anything with wheels and so I think that he will have a transport themed room until such time as he is able to choose what he wants for himself. I think he will also love the star bedding that can be mix and matched with this Next theme.

The fabulous jungle art work made by Daddy will then form the starting point for our playroom, in the new house, so that it can be shared by all. Esther and William are both animal mad so it would not be fair for one of them to keep the paintings and I don’t think it is girly enough for Matilda.

As well as updating and improving the children’s spaces in our house I also want to make things nicer for David and I. David is not much of one for nice things.

When we moved into our current house in 2009 we kitted it out completely from Ebay. Our sofas cost us just £40 and to be honest it is beginning to show. So for my birthday this year I want to kit out other areas of our house and create a room that is just for adults. This had always been our intention but toys seem to spread with a vengeance!

I have been browsing the Next lounge furniture on their website and am rapidly building up quite a list of what I would like.

Living Room Furniture
I love this Hartford furniture. It looks quite traditional and solid. I think it suits the older style of property that David and I are searching for. I have never bought a whole range of living room furniture. Our furniture is all home made and second hand. Next makes my dream of having all new and matching affordable and available online, which means that David might one day be persuaded too!

I love these chocolate brown sofas. I think we definitely need leather nnow with all the squidgers as they would be so much easier to clean than our terracotta coloured fabric ones! Next sell a range of sofas but the Colarado is definitely my favourite and the one that I think would best suit our home and our lives.

When Matilda moves into her own room I would like David and I to give our own bedroom a makeover. We have never really had a nice space of our own. The Next website is so easy to browse and has given me lots of inspiration. This is the bedroom furniture that I have my heart set on now.

Bedroom Furniture
I love the Oxford range. I would love for this bedroom to be mine, just as it is displayed on the Next site. The neutral colours, the warm tones, the simplicity. I just love it and want it for my own … and David’s.

I have spent far too much time researching this post. Browsing the Next website is an easy way to lose the best part of a day. It is easy to navigate but bursting with ideas and inspirations for changing a house into a home.

I cannot wait to get started now with our own home improvements and am certain that we will be asking Next for help along the way.

This post is part of a Next Blogger Campaign and I received three natural storage baskets worth £25 in return for this review. We are using them to kick start Matilda Bump’s room! Or corner of our room at least!

Inspiration for Matilda's Corner!
