Esther and William are still a bit young for the Chuggington Under and Over Starter Train Set and I have to admit to having never seen the television programme. However, I have had a play with the toy with Esther and William and think it is quite brilliant for budding train enthusiasts. Daddy seemed quite taken with it!

Us and Our Daddy!

We enlisted his help to set up the 22 piece set which includes a 2-in-1 Clock Tower and Tunnel. It can be used as a tower or as two separate tunnels making the set able to be used in a range of different, creative ways.

The wooden track is sturdy and exclusive to Chuggington being branded along its edges.

It can be used in conjunction with other tracks though including Brio and Big Jigs which makes it a great value starter set for all train enthusiasts not just Chuggington fans.

The completed track forms a figure of eight with a raised section that goes over the bridge and through the clock tower. Daddy was particularly impressed with this bit!

Do You Recognise Us?

I can tell you that the trains are well made and perfect for little hands to play with. They do seem to come off the rails quite often but I think that may be because we set up the track on carpet? Can you tell that we are train set novices? So much to learn!

Because Esther and William are still a bit too young to really appreciate this set we are giving it to a cousin for Christmas.

I have no hesitation giving this as a gift as the track is well made and fits together easily. The trains are colourful and easy to handle. The tower and tunnels make for fabulous imaginative play and the whole set is compatible with other train sets that children may already own.
