Esther and William are going through a very fussy food stage.
Almost everything that I give them to eat they throw on the floor, sausages and sandwiches, toast and tea cakes. Almost everything, but not fruit.
They will eat blueberries, raspberries and grapes all day if I let them. William loves to munch his way through an entire banana. Mango fingers are a favourite too!
I serve them fruit in lots of different ways, mostly in some form of salad but I think it is time for something new. Perhaps a juice or a puree that can be added to other foods?
Esther and William love yoghurt too and have recently developed a taste for rice pudding as they can spoon it in easily themselves. With some success!!
And so I am thinking that I may have to buy a fruit juicer or a smoothie maker.
Do you have one of these?
Do you find it useful with fruit fanatics or fussy eaters of your own?
I would love some ideas for using a juicer to encourage Esther and William to eat a wider variety of foods?
Perhaps I could make some vegetable juice?
Or toppings to make their toast more appealing to them?
I would be grateful for any ideas.

My 18 month old is going through this too! My 5yo is a notoriously fussy eater but I’ve started blending up lots of different fruits with some milk and ice and they have smoothies with their breakfast. They LOVE these and means I can hide alsorts in there (Im all for hiding foods in other stuff, sauces, smoothies etc!). The only thing that wasnt very successful is anything mixed with raspberries.
Good luck thinking of something new to make!
My mum used to crush bananas and squeeze an orange. She would add the pulp and the juice to the crushed banana. (She would also add some sugar but nowadays we would not recommand it). Anyway just the thought of it makes me want to eat it. It takes a few minutes and it’s cheap.
I have a smoothie maker. I love it but I’ve read several times that it breaks the vitamins so doesn’t it defeat the point ?
