An Open Letter from Cookie Pie, my Fur Real Friend!

Dear Maia

My name is Cookie Pie and I am a playful pup from Hasbro.

Esther and William have been trying to look after me for the last few weeks but to be honest they are not doing a very good job. They are too young, you see, to care for a dog like me. All they do is drag me around the floor and try to eat me. Like all dogs I often moult and lose my hair and it is not good for such little babies to swallow lots of fur.

I need a new owner. Do you think that you could look after me? I need someone older and wiser to give me the love, care and attention that I need. Your Godmother Jennie thinks that you may be just the girl for me. What do you think?

I have lovely cuddly fur and soft ears that love to be stroked. If you stroke my head it will soothe me to sleep. I love sleeping. Do you? I could sleep on your bed with you if you like? I could guard your secrets and your dreams.

I am very easy to care for. Getting me to sleep is easy, stroking my head as I have already said and patting me on my back works well too. Nice rhythmic patting. I don’t get patted much here as the grown ups seem to be always patting the babies to sleep!

When it is awake time I love to play and chew on my bone. I am not very good at collecting my bone so one of your jobs, as my new owner and friend, will be to put my bone into my mouth and then I will give it a good old chew.

When you are talking to me (I do like a chat) if you turn my head toward your hand I will make very happy noises. If you clap for me or whistle I might even turn my head myself! I also react to the sound of my squeaky bone. I love my squeaky bone!! Do you have a favourite toy?

Although I am not a real real dog, I am ‘Fur Real’ dog and I can do many of the things that a real real dog can do. I respond to touch and voice and the sound of my lovely bone. I can bark and wag my tail. I can move my head and I will puppy talk back to you if you chat to me. I am quite the canine gossip! If I am not feeling happy I will whine and then you can just stroke me or pat my head to get me chatting again.
If you need a rest and stop playing for a moment I will rest too. I love to daydream about long walks and chasing sticks. Do you like to daydream? What do you dream about? Perhaps having a puppy of your very own? I could make your dreams come true? A ‘Fur Real’ puppy just for you!!

Keeping me smart and clean is really easy. It is important for us girls to look nice! Your Godmother has shown me pictures of you and you are very pretty and always well groomed. That is how I like to be too. So please Maia, try not to get me wet and try not to get me too dirty. If I should accidentally get a little unclean then please brush my fur with a cloth or a soft brush to loosen any dirt. I love the feeling of being brushed and it does keep my coat shiny like new. I may lose some hair, as all dogs do, best to put this in the bin rather than leave it al over the floors!

I do not need feeding. I get all my energy from batteries. 4 x C batteries to be precise. I need batteries to help me be the best friend to you that I can be.
