It is all starting to become very real!
Next weekend David and I will be having our hen and stag celebrations.
David and the boys are off Go-Karting in the morning and then going to a local pub for the afternoon and evening where they will eat, drink, play games and without doubt be very very merry! They are camping in the pub gardens so I will not have to deal with a drunken David rolling in to the house in the small hours. Phew!
My hen do is a rather more sedate affair, by my own choosing. At first I thought I would not have a celebration at all but now I am having a Hen and Chicks Day. Lots of the the mummies and children who will be at the wedding are meeting at The Rare Breeds Centre in Ashford for a picnic lunch and an afternoon with the animals. I am really looking forward to it actually.
The following weekend I am having a Hen Tea Party with my Mum, my Mother in Law to be, and Esther and William. We are going to Eastwell Manor in Ashford and again it is something that I am looking forward to.
On both of these occasions I would have loved for my sister to be there but she will be busy fattening up in Australia, ‘cooking’ my little nephew who will be born in October.
I am wondering if I should have planned something more elaborate, more of a night out with the girls? But it isn’t really me. I cannot remember the last time I had a night out with the girls?!? Years ago!
I am a bit restricted really as I am a Stay at Home Mum (SAHM) of 11 month old twins and so do not have any money of my own. I am not complaining, I don’t usually need money but with the wedding coming up if I was working there are things I would buy and/or do wth my money that obviously now I can’t. But I do have two very cute babies instead!
In a time before babies and with lots of money, my dream hen do would be going for a meal with friends then to the theatre to see a show, something like Mamma Mia, and then on to a club for some cheesy dancing to music from the 90s. I would like to have had my hair cut and straightened and had some time to get ready with the girls.
But I know that I will have a wonderful day with all my lovely friends and their little ones. I am sure there will be lots of laughs and girly chatter. I can’t wait x I am a hen!!!
Along with Hen Do H is also for Honeymoon. David and I have deliberated about this for so long now and I think that we are settled on going to visit my parents in Spain. If we were just We Two we would have liked to have gone sailing around the Turkish Coast or the Greek Islands but with two toddlers in tow it is just not possible. We found a beautiful place in Vietnam and have searched for family friendly holidays in Mallorca, Menorca and beyond. We finally decided on going to visit my parents and driving there stoppping at places along the way. I hope that one day we will have our honeymoon, when the children are older and we feel able to leave them. Mauritius maybe or The Maldives?
H is for hopefully one day x
