As part of our Tweaning series here at Edspire we are reviewing a selection of baby foods.
The first company to send us some products for the Twin Taste Test were Organix. This is a company that we had used before and Esther and William both seemed to like their food quite well. We had not used it in a while though and so it was interesting to see the twin’s reaction as I reintroduced them to this brand.
The weaning process is all about exploring new tastes and textures. Organix provides a range of different foods using a plentitude of flavours on their own and mixed together. Organix No Junk Jars are cooked gently to lock in natural tastes and flavours to give nutritious meals. Organix Steam Cooked Pots offer a variety of meals made with only the best fresh organic ingredients which are gently steamed to keep the goodness locked in. We have tried some of each of these products and also some Organix finger foods and 100% Veg Pouches.
We have been pleased with all that we have tried and will definitely be buying Organix food in the future.
The first two jars that we tried were both desserts. Apple and Oat Crumble was first and was loved by Esther! I tried it too and was pleased to find it not too sweet and it seemed to be very filling for the babes. Mango and Banana Rice Pudding was very popular with both babies and was enjoyed as a substantial dessert after a finger food main.
When Esther and William have had a large main course I like to give them a lighter pudding and for this Organix Fruit Purees are ideal. They offer babies a variety of natural tastes and flavours to gently expand their palate.
Esther and William have only in the last week or so been able to grasp and hold on to finger foods. Their absolute favourites are Organix Carrot Sticks. These and Organix Corn Puffs and Rice Cakes are all great finger foods that melt in the mouth and so are perfect for our little gummy bears!
Today William has not been very well and so he had a Stage 1 100% Veg Pouch for his dinner. It was just sufficient and smooth enough for his sensitive tom. Esther polished off a chickpea and red pepper lasagne jar which she loved.
I love Organix jars because they look and smell real unlike some other baby foods that David refers to as cat food!!
We have enjoyed testing and tasting the Organix range and look forward to continuing our food journey with them in the future.
As a Mum of twins I have found that I just do not have time to make my own purees for the babies and I was worried that because of this I would not be able to provide Esther and William with wholesome, healthy, natural and nutritious foods, with Organix I now know that I can and I am certain that other Mums will find this reassuring that Organix really do provide ‘food as it should be’.
You can buy Organix baby and toddler foods from supermarkets and from Boots. You can find out more information about their range of products and buy items directly from their website www.organix.com
On the website you will also find an excellent meal planner which combines Organix meals with recommendations for finger foods and other ‘real’ foods. I have only discovered this today and will definitely be using this resource for Esther and William from now on.
Organix – A fantastic food source, a fantastic find!
Thank you to Organix for sending us a taster selection of their Stage 1 and 2 Baby Foods to test and taste in order to write this review.
