This week’s Listography asks for our top five simple pleasures.
Mine are:
The smell of David.
He has such a gorgeous scent and having him close enough for me to breathe him in makes me feel safe and secure and gives me great, but very simple, pleasure.
Esther’s smile.
Our beautiful daughter can light up the room with her smile. She is breathtaking and it gives me enormous pleasure to see her eyes twinkle as her face expresses her delight in such pure and simple things.
William’s giggle.
He is a cheeky little monster our son! He gives me so much pleasure with his playful ways and his incredibly infectious giggle.
Waking up early but realising that I can have another period of time in bed. Undisturbed time. Just me. Stretched out on the double bed and drifting in and out of sleep not having to worry about getting up and doing. Bliss!
A hot cup of tea and a warm buttery bit of toast.
Such a simple pleasure so rarely enjoyed as a Mummy of twins. Invariably it is luke warm tea with cold soggy toast. Does not have quite the same ring or give the right level of satisfaction.
Such simple things can turn your whole world around in a minute.
Such simple pleasures.
What are yours?
What a sweet list. I especially like number 4. It’s fantastic when you wake up at 5am thinking it’s time to get up then realise there’s at least another hour in bed. Pure bliss. Wish I’d thought of that one.
Not so much fun when they decide that now is the perfect time to get up and play though! have almost done a ful day today already!
What a lovely list – and you’re right – those smiles as priceless! Great pic. x
