Festive Family Frolics at The Royal Albert Hall

This year

The Royal Albert Hall

Has a fabulous festive line up for families

There is something for everyone

Whether you want a festive film

To meet Father Christmas

A traditional festive ballet

Or a seasonal orchestral adventure

We love heading into the city

During the festive period

We love to wander the streets

Looking at the lights

Tasting street food

And warming ourselves with creamy marshmallow topped cocoa

We also love to head to the theatre

To the concert hall

And to see the big man in red

Father Christmas himself

My twins are 12 this year

But they still want to meet Old St Nick

And wish him well at Christmas

Maybe we will pop in to say hello

At the Royal Albert Hall

Where old FC is reading one of our favourite festive tales

Tiny Reindeer

Storytime With Father Christmas

In this very special festive experience, magic awaits your little ones as our beautiful porch is transformed into an enchanting North Pole street.

We invite you to step inside a whimsical world where you’ll be greeted by Father Christmas and his merry Head Elf as they take families on a joyful journey in this charming Christmas storytime session featuring Chris Naylor-Ballesteros’ ‘Tiny Reindeer’, ending with each child taking home their own gift.

My Christmas Orchestral Adventure

My Christmas Orchestral Adventure returns in 2022 and Albert’s Orchestra is poised and ready for a magical journey through classical music.

Father Christmas has lost his map on a practice run of his delivery route! Thankfully our trusty ensemble has found it but they need your help to return it to him ahead of the big day!

We need to zip around the world on an orchestral adventure to track him down. Along the way we’ll ice skate on frozen lakes, go on a sleigh ride and enjoy a white Christmas, all without leaving the Royal Albert Hall’s magical auditorium.

A full symphony orchestra will bring our adventure to life!
Will you help Albert’s Orchestra save Christmas?

Home Alone In Concert

This beloved holiday favourite features renowned composer John Williams’ charming and delightful score performed live to picture by a live symphony orchestra.

This sounds like the perfect festive treat for film fans and their grown ups.

The Nutcracker

It’s not Christmas without The Nutcracker! And in 2022 the Royal Albert Hall welcomes the return of Birmingham Royal Ballet’s festive favourite. This enchanting production, featuring Tchaikovsky’s glorious score, is a sparkling festive treat for the whole family.

This is the ballet that I am hoping to see with Esther and Bea this year.

The music always makes me feel festive and I want the girls to have that same feeling.

We have seen The Nutcracker before locally and in London but this will be the first time at the Royal Albert Hall.

Has any of these festive family offerings caught your eye?

Will you be heading to the city this advent

To enjoy the sights and sounds of Christmas?
