We are getting super excited for Christmas over here at HQ and we are counting down to the festive season with a glorious selection box of Christmas themed bookish treats.
Today I am sharing with you 8 brilliant books for counting down to Christmas. These are 8 brilliant advent books. Each book has 24 (or 24 and a half!) readings one for each day of advent.
We have been counting down to Christmas with Winston for a few years now and we adore this wonderful festive adventure from Alex Smith This year there is a new Winston advent adventure and we are so excited to get started.
How Winston Delivered Christmas and How Winston Came Home For Christmas
The Winston books are stories with 24 and a half chapters. The illustrations are wonderful and the story is everything that you want a festive adventure to be. Between the chapters there are craft ideas, baking recipes, random acts of kindness inspiration and activities. These books are beautiful and such great value and my children love rediscovering them year on year.
The Peter Rabbit Christmas Is Coming advent book is beautiful. A classic and the perfect Christmas countdown for little Beatrix Potter fans and their grown ups. This is a wonderful mixture of story and seasonal activities. This book promises a gentle playful and very merry advent.
Christmas is Coming has a traditional advent calendar on the cover. You open a door each day and then go to the numbered page and do the activity. There are delicious recipes to try, Christmas crafts, songs to sing, stories and poems to read, jokes to share and so much more. Every page is a fabulously festive work of art. This would make a lovely advent gift.
Countdown to Christmas is new this year from Usborne Books and is filled with fun things to make and do from the first day of December to Christmas Eve. We are looking forward to getting stuck into this one!
Walk This World at at Christmas Time is a lyrical journey around the world. Little readers open the numbered flaps for advent surprises and to discover how different cultures and countries celebrate Christmas. We love this one and it can be read in one sitting as well as an advent quest.
A Christmas Advent Story is gorgeous for littlest readers! The illustrations are gorgeous with super cute characters. We follow the story of a little girl, boy and their dog on their countdown to Christmas Day. Each of the 25 flaps introduces a new word and festive picture. Edie adores this one and again it works as a straight story as well as an advent calendar.
The Littlest Watchman is a story full of wonder. A story of waiting, patience and hope. This is a Christian story about the birth of Jesus. About the first Christmas. The book comes with an advent calendar where each day there is a Bible verse and picture behind the door. We love sharing this at breakfast each day of December x
