“On that day be still, breathe.
Know that … you are strong enough.
Know that … you are smart enough.
Know that … you have all you need to make it through.
You can do hard things …”
Today was the end of a wonderful week of home education where we have been focusing on creativity, courage and collaboration. We have been thinking about what it means to have a ‘Growth Mindset’ and being brave enough to try new things. We have also been thinking alot about resilience.
We ended our week by sharing this beautiful book from Little Tiger
Written by Sasha Quinton and illustrated by Thomas Hegbrook
As a mummy I would do anything to make my children happy and keep them safe but I also know that one of my most important jobs is to make them strong, confident people who know that they can do anything and be anything that they want.
I also need them to know that life does not always work out how we would like it to. There are often bumps in the road. I want them to know that no matter what I believe in them and I want to help them believe in themselves.
Some days
“… the sun may go,
The wild wind may blow
Your heart may not be still”
I want my children to know that when things do not go to plan, when they feel down, when they are scared, sad, low, when they have a bad day … they will be okay.
Sometimes bad things happen to the best of us and bad times, bad feelings can feel never ending.
But they can end, they do, they will.
And when my children face dark times, bad days, sad or angry thoughts
I want them to know
“The moon will burn much brighter …
And in the morning the sun will rise again and so will you.
You will rise again, brilliant and bright and beautiful …”
This is the perfect bedtime story. Something to share together when days don’t go to plan. A book to share when starting something new, when feeling scared or worried. A story for the end of a challenging day. A story for a new day after a long night. A stunning book that would make a beautiful gift.
With shimmering pages filled with stunning artwork and clever die cuts and peek throughs this is a gorgeous book, the words and illustrations flow from beginning to end creating a magical lullaby, a love letter from parent to child, a book to share and treasure.
We were sent a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review
