Book Advent 2020: Listen to the Nutcracker Posted on November 5, 2020 by Jennie 0 View this post on Instagram Today is Day 4 of our extended Book Advent and I am delighted to share with you one of Edie’s favourites. A little musical board book from @nosycrow called Listen To The Nutcracker. Edie dances around the house with this book asking us all to read it out while she presses the sound buttons. We all love the music from Tchaikovsky’s Nutcracker and this is a lovely way to introduce snippets of the music to little readers and ballerinas. The characters are depicted as forest animals. Little Rabbit is Clara. She watches pandas perform the Chinese Dance and wolves perform the Russian Dance. Little Rabbit and The Nutcracker watch Dance of the Reed Flutes and the Waltz of the Flowers where fairies are dancing. The Sugar Plum Fairy is a dancing deer. The illustrations are very sweet. Edie adores them and this is definitely her book. It would make a lovely stocking filler or advent book for baby ballerinas and any toddlers who love music and dance.
