Managing a Busy Family Life With Your Newborn

It’s dinner time, the kitchen is chaos. It is loud and everyone needs you.

Your toddler wants your attention, you need your hands to make dinner and you’ve got a newborn who is quiet for a change and you’re not quite sure where to put them down whilst you make that dinner.

Often new babies aren’t always happy alone in their baskets, and especially if they aren’t quite ready for a nap it’s hard to know where to let them rest while you answer all those questions from your toddler and finish that dinner.

Where can you put your baby?

It’s important you have somewhere safe and comfortable to put your little one, so you can have your hands free to do the other many bits and pieces you need to do.

Their pram or cot isn’t always the most comfortable for long periods and can take up a lot of space in a busy kitchen or lounge.

You also want baby to feel part of the family and the goings on in the house, so if you could have them in the family space but in a comfortable seat, that would be ideal! If they are in the room with you, it gives your toddler a chance to interact with them and you can keep an eye on your littlest one to make sure they are okay.

Napping newborns

Your newborn baby’s tummy is going to keep them from napping for more than a few hours at a time. This means they are going to be napping for most of the day, up to 16 to 18 hours in total. They are likely to nap anywhere, even in your arms. It’s tough to have a baby in your arms all the time, as you need to do things around the house as well as take some time for yourself to nap or shower.

Babies prefer to sleep in something that gives them a nice snug fit around them. Something that mimics the close confines of the womb. They want to nap somewhere soft, snuggly and safe.

It’s also important that your sleeping baby is not left unattended somewhere where the risk of falling or rolling is present. They need to be somewhere secure so you can have peace of mind that they are safe.

Introducing the Snuggle Seat

The Snuggle Seat has been designed by parents, for parents. It is a baby beanbag with a very comfortable harness for baby to sit while you do all the things you need to do with both your hands like play with your toddler or give them a cuddle; actually eat dinner with both hands or have a quick bath with baby by your side.

It also has a concealed zip to protect baby from any chance of scratching their sensitive skin on the zip. It also makes the design easy on the eye and a beautiful addition to your home space.

It is designed with a newborn cover that is even softer and more cosy for your little one to rest. It also includes a safety ring to keep them secure inside and to keep them snug. The harness has a quick-release buckle that you can use with one hand, because which parent ever has two hands free for anything?

As your newborn grows and is able to support themselves in sitting, the Snuggle Seat is adjustable to allow for this. There is a second zip cover that allows you to use the Snuggle Seat as a lightweight chair, right up until they are 8 years old. It allows you to reduce the amount of beans in your beanbag to adjust it to the right shape and size for your growing baby or toddler.

The Snuggle Seat is a great helper for any home. It gives your little baby somewhere safe, soft and snug to rest their heads, and to be a part of the family dynamics and interactions.
It gives you both your hands free to get through your to-do list that little bit easier.

  1. Great tips! Modern life is so much busy and sometimes very hard. It’s so true that the pressures of everyday life can make relaxing very tricky – I find it hard! But trying to get enough sleep, lighting some candles and spent some time with nature helps.
