World Book Day: Tidy Books Book Box Giveaway

Adventures with Books by Velda Blumhagen

Books are ships
That sail the seas
To lands of snow
Or jungle trees.
And I’m the captain bold and free,
Who will decide which place we’ll see.
Come, let us sail the magic ship.

Books are trains
In many lands,
Crossing hills
Or desert sands.
And I’m the engineer who guides
The train on its exciting rides.
Come, let us ride the magic train.

Books are zoos
That make a home
For birds and beasts
Not free to roam.
And I’m the keeper of the zoo,
I choose the things to show to you.
Come, let us visit in a zoo.

Books are gardens
Fairies, elves,
Cowboys, and people
Like ourselves.
And I can find with one good look
Just what I want, inside a book.
Come, let us read!
For reading’s fun

TIDYBOX2

Esther and William love the Tidy Books Book Box. It enables them to sit and choose a story. It is also great for encouraging them to tidy up their books after they have leafed through them all.

Esther and William also both like the play clock. They are really good at making the time you tell them to make. They can do o’clock and half pasts now without any help. I am a very proud mummy!

We also use the clock to say when we will next read a story.

The Book Box holds up to 40 picture books.

Our Book Box lives in the lounge and it is where we keep our seasonal books and our bedtime stories.

  1. These look amazing.

We’re all about learning animal names at the minute so “Whose Tail” would definitely be the first think in our Tidy Books Book Box if we;re lucky enough to win.

  2. ‘What the ladybird heard’ – very popular in our house at the moment as our 1 year old has just started to enjoy the story and is an old fav for my 3 year old x

  3. I would give this as a gift to a friend who has a todddler, I know she loves reading so this would be ideal for her family.

  4. Am I allowed 3 fanned out to cover all my little ones?

In the night garden – Alice
Beast quest (anyone from his collection!) – luca
    The butterfly lion – Olivia

  5. If I won I’d give this to my niece and nephew. Their house was struck by lightening in the night last July resulting in a huge house fire which thankfully they escaped from where they lost all of their belongings. They’ve just moved back in after months of work on the house rebuilding so this would be a lovely addition to their home to welcome them back. I would chooseThe Story of the Little Mole Who Knew It Was None of His Business (a children’s book by German children’s authors Werner Holzwarth and Wolf Erlbruch) as the first book in the book box as it is a truly brilliant and hilarious who done it!

  6. We also have hundreds of books in our house. We need more storage space for them so this would be great to win!! The first book displayed would have to be ‘Guess How Much I Love You’.

  7. As my daughter and 3 year old granddaughter have moved back home with me this would be ideal to store lots of her books. The first book in it would be her favourite one “we’re going on a bear hunt”

  8. Well where do I start!
We would have I keep zog, what the ladybird heard and a snappy enormous crocodile toy and book for starters. These are all the current favourites!

  9. I think the Singing Mermaid would have to be the first book displayed – so it can be ready for action at any time.
    🙂

  10. I think my first book would be The Gruffalo, but as my son is currently Sam obsessed his choice would be his Fireman Sam sticker book 🙂

  11. The first book would be The Hungry Caterpillar. This book was given to my son on his christening day, and even though he’s now 6,he still loves the story. He likes to read it to his little sister.

  12. My daughter would absolutely love this caddy! She would stock it with all her best books – this changes weekly but the ones at the moment are Gruffalo and peace at last

  13. The first book we’d display would have to be “Mog & Bunny, and other stories” by Judith Kerr – Mog is one of my little girl, Olivia’s, favourite characters and we have all the individual books, and she can practically read Mog and Me to me each night now. But she loves going through the Mog compendium because there are so many pictures to talk about in it.

  14. If I was lucky enough to win our first book in it would be the gruffalo, my son loves all the julia Donaldson collection

  15. My eldest son would put in the ‘biggest giant in town’ and the little one would put in the hungary caterpillar.

  16. Dogger, by Shirley Hughes. Such a sweet story with a lovely message about sibling love: “Then Bella did something very kind…” 🙂

  17. My little girl loves all the Julia Donaldson books especially the Singing mermaid, so we’d display that one first.

  18. Probably a current library book. Until we join, our favourite books were the Julia Donaldson ones but now we love the variety and newness!
